Has anyone tried the new TT 53 engine yet? i am planing to get my old Raptor 50 V2 back in the air and was thinking of giving it a try but i would like some insights on this engines performance before i buy it. Heliproz has it in stock for about $200.

I hate to say it but Do A Search.. theres already an extensive thread all about it on here. everyone seems to like it so far.

Raptor 50 Titan with DX7, GY401, and TT Redline 53 is Awsome!

Yes, it is a very nice engine. I have 2gals through mine and it is definetly stronger than the hyper or Ys. But on the flip side, it is a little fuel hungry..

More fuel hungry than the Hyper? Wow wasn't sure that was possible in a 50 size motor.

its a 53 not a 50.. Its the price you pay for more power, It cut a full minute off my flight time.

.53/.55/.50 all are 50 size motors. I'm only getting 7-8 minutes on my hyper in my Trex when flying hard, not sure I want less flight time than that. I guess I could always add a header tank for more fuel load.

In theory you'd be able to pull the power back a touch with the TT53 so your runtime should be the same.

In theory you'd be able to pull the power back a touch with the TT53 so your runtime should be the same.
When you running an engine for its power, why on earth would you want to pull it back??

I'm simply explaining why the .53 cut a minute off his runtime. IF he ran the 53 at the same power he was using before, chances are the runtime would be the same. a 53 would allow you to pull back a little to match the power of the 50, thereby using the same amount of fuel. Seperately, not all of us beat the living hell out of our engines. We might want to have the power of the 53 available but may not always be trying to pull 100% from it.

This is not entirely true. You can take any given 2 engines even with the same power ratings but of different brands and they will not give the same fuel consumption.

It takes more fuel to make more power. If I didn't want more power I would not have bought the TT53RL. I am willing to sacrifice a little bit of flight time so I can flog my heli to within an inch of its life..
