When should the clutch liner be replaced? what should the gap be? Has any one done one? Did you use the Synergy liner? Thanks Kevin

The original kits had gap issues, they were very large and the clutch would only engage at higher RPMs. I replaced mine on my original Synergy, I used a Raptor 90 liner and I shimmed it with a bit of pop can. It worked perfect.

The newer kits now have it fixed. I have used .006" gap as a measurement for new liners.

liner
i just replaced my synergy with a raptor 90 clutchv liner , i needed to trim the liner as it hung out of the bottom of the bell and i glued it in with super areldite which takes 3 days to fully cure, it seems to have a tighter gape...

Hey Kevin.. What's up?

If your clutch is ingaging at a high RPM than it is time to change the liner. The stock synergy liner works good the raptor liner seems to work. I use the hirobo liner. The blue one works just fine. Colpar in Littleton has plenty of hirobo stuff. You will need to cut to fit. I use JB quick and it seems to work fine. I take a plastic bread bag or chip bag and run it over the clutch an push the shaft through the bag. Remember this is after you have trial fited your liner. Then I line the clutch with JB quick. It doesn't need alot. Just don't go crazy. put your liner in, take your clutch with the bag over it and push it into the clutch bell. This way you put in a almost perfect gap. I have known guys that used electrical tape, but it seems to leave crap on your clutch and also you most of the time get glue on your clutch. This way is much cleaner. Push it all together and let it sit for about 30min... pull apart trim.. and place your clutch back in without the bag on it and check your gap. It might be a little tigh.. but better tight than too loose.. I hope this helps.

yes it can, mine was doing the same thing. do a few climbouts then put your finger on the clutch bell, it will be hot if it is slipping. i just replaced mine as it was slipping, i have one of the first kits so it seems its better than it ever was now. i used a raptor 90 liner as well.
