I just recently received my Blade 400. First charge on their battery took about an hour. Hovered for about 5 minutes then I put it away to let my nerves cool. Left it to sit for a day. Following day, went to fly again but battery did not have enough juice. After about a minute, the ESC shut down at 9v. Put it on charge again but it won't take a full charge. Highest voltage is 10.1 volts. Been on charge for two days, no errors, but not charging fully. The battery obviously didn't over-discharge as it stopped at 9v as designed. Anybody else had the same problem? Don't know if it's the battery or charger.

The battery is dead, ya might try to take it back to where you go it for a warranty replacement or best of all call Horizon.

They stand by their stuff.

Now in retrospec. Always start your flights with a charged batt.

If it was down to the cutoff it was more than 5 min of flight time.

FYI I would never charge a battery for two days. That means while you slept you were still charging the battery That can be very dangerous and hazerdous to your health and life. I don't want to scare you but if you cannot charge your battery in a few hours take it off the charger and bring it back to the lhs. Batterys of all things do go bad brand new, my bmws new battery went out Once you see your lipo doesn't want to charge don't try to force it. Leave it alone let it cool off or just unplug it. Never ever leave a lipo unattended. I charge my batterys when I'm at home and I'm right next to the charger almost floor level. As soon as I hear the charger bell I take it off the charger. If I have to go out I never leave the charger on by itself. Thats asking for trouble and I love my animals very much and have them in mind when I'm messing with lipos. I'm sure you'll get another battery, e-flite stands behind there product. Good luck and remember safety first Jimmi

Thank you both for your kind input. Much appreciated.

I was exaggerating to some extent when I said two days. It was charging for several hours each day. I started and stopped it each time after it appeared it wasn't working hoping it might cycle. But I did charge it outside on a car battery (not in the car though) to avoid any potential fire problems. That much I am aware of. I always charge my lipos outside.

As far as the flight time goes, I didn't exhaust the timer on the radio which is set at 4 minutes 30 seconds. Was probably close to it but I thought it would be holding more of a charge than that. Must have been mistaken! The heli was still flying and had plenty of charge when I stopped flying. I guess the downtime overnight may have discharged even more.

I bought a new battery in the meantime, can always use a 2nd, and E-Flight is sending a replacement as well. I'm very happy with their customer service and their products.

Charger??
I had the same problem but I never ran my battery down until esc shut off but I thought it was the charger becuase it would shut down before the battery would charge so I sent it to Horizon for a check up, are you sure it was your battery???? The guy at the hobby store said that some were having trouble with the chargers, now I'am not sure if it was the battery only 3 flights old or the charger and I have mine up for sale
