I've got two of the above batteries and looking on the label it says "use a charger set to 1C=2.2A", however underneath this it says "max fast charge rate 2.5C/5.43A".

Does this mean the battery will be safe to be charged at 2C, does anyone charge the batteries at this rate and would it reduce their life significantly or increase the risk of damage during charging?

I'm assuming i can just choose the fast charge option on my BC6 charger enter the current and set it going, but i want to check since this is the first lipo i've had that mentioned fast charging and having had one catch fire i don't want it to happen again really.

sure
I have the bc8. You can use the fast charge option to charge your lipos. But make sure their balanced. I just always use the balanace charge option. I have many packs and I just charge at night and fly during the day.

Absolutely. You got to expect that when you charge them at their full spec.

A little bit like running your car full rpm all time instead of using the top gear Sure it has more punch, but motor won't last as long

Charlie Wang at TP did a 600 cycle test with 3C charging, result was pretty much neglibile, meaning it didnt hurt them.

But ALWAYS balance during charge, with charging over 1C, if something goes wrong it goes wrong faster.

So if I set it to a balanced charge the batteries should be fine to be fast charged, and I'm assuming I just need to keep a cloe eye on the cell voltages?

It would be good to be able to fast charge because at the moment the only way i can get more flights is to use a second charger and more lipos.

There are so many factors that determine lipo life.
-temp
-cell balancing
-charge rate
-voltage that you stop at when flying

The only way your temp gets too much is when you discharge your LIPO to much which is bad as well.
I'm going to be charging at 1.5C on my packs (charger won't do more) from what I've read on the internet the biggest killer is a deep discharge! I always balance my 6S and 10S packs.

I figure if I get 12-24 months out of the lipo thats ok.
