I started flying last may and bought the cal 5 as my first heli. I couldn't ask for anything better, the guy that helped me get started owned 2 previously so he knew the heli and actually had a lot of spare parts from his old crashed ones for me. The only thing that I have had a problem with is the stock muffler. keeps coming seperated so i have to tighten it after every flight. Other than that awesome heli and great price.

I bought a used caliber 30 about 5 years ago as my first bird...they are really stable helis and are easy to fly as well as work with....the parts are a little more difficult to find nowadays for it yet the caliber 5 is newer so it shouldnt be an issue....Chris at RCHeliworks offers great pricing and can usually find you whatever you need.....good luck

I started with a knight 50 sport but all 50 heli are pretty good quality if you buy a good brand one. If you would like to save a buck buy a use one and then go through it. You can find used raptors cheap.

I would agree on a used raptor. Tons of new and used parts. Cheap to buy, fly and crash. I bought a titan for my very first heli and Im glad I did.
