I am just wondering if I should use one or two layers of Futaba's foam, or maybe use something else like Zeal Gel to secure the sensor to the Pred servo tray.

Thanks.

hi Jack
i am just running two layers of the Futaba foam on mine , but i would think the Zeal Gel would be just as good , one thing i like to do also , is a light Velcro wrap over the top of the gyro , it dosen't have to be tight , but just enough to keep the gyro from flopping around if the adhesive fails , HTH , dana

I have used CSM gyro tape on my Spectra G with 611. They manufacture a special gyro tape for use in gassers.

Works like a charm on my machine.

Tried planks, but after all, wood is best on the bonfire.

Thanks. I think I'll go with the Zeal Gel and the velcro.

This CSM tape has nothing to do with the standard tape that comes with their gyros? I have lots of that.

I also use the zeal tape. Good stuff. Took away a drift problem I was always getting on gassers.

Why buy?? when you can borrow and no return

Zeal tape no velcro
The velcro is for people who use the Futaba crap tape supplied with their gyros. They stuff splits in half across the whole square leaving the adhesive stuck to the plate and the gyro but no connection in between

That's when Mr. Velcro comes to your rescue as your gyro breaks completely free. Futaba should change this stuff, I throw mine out before I even use it.

Zeal w/o velcro. Has always worked great and I've never had the tape fail.

And Jack, if you find that does not work as well as you would like. Use the futaba tape supplied as described in the instructions.

The sheets are 2" wide by 6" long. If you cut 1" squares, you end up with enough for 12 gyros, but we end up using it for a lot more than just gyros...

The Zeal tape is pricy, but in my opinion as well as a lot of others persons opinions, you can see it is worth it. The first time I bought it I was shocked to but went with it anyways. Been using it for years. I had a one slab that was defective (and that was weird). It actually melted under hi humidity conditions. I think they gofed on a batch around 5 years ago. I had the slab sitting on my hobby bench. It was humid and cool and the stuff turned into a big puddle of green goo which was not fun to clean up. That only happened once. I have had a couple of slabs since with no problems. You get a lot of milage of use out of one slab.
