Im sure they will use the same One way hub...its beefy!!

You can use any head on any helicopter for the most part. Its that easy. Just need the right linkage size thats all. I have seen many Franken helis!!

Heli looks sweet!!

No I did not miss that, this is a new heli just like the freya was once.
So you got the new high-torque oneway and that's why you're complaining? Hirobo HAS fixed the oneway by introducing a bullet-proof auto hub based on a sprage clutch. Having eliminated that weakness in the previous heli design I doubt that they would go back to the original oneway design.

Then that begets the question, why ask in the first place?
Hope they have done some magic with the one way bearing system and made them so they dont crack! I'm on my third and the ships only 1.8 years old.
Let's ask JG @ MRC if all the new 90 size helis come with the new style hubs. IMHO, I think that they do.

Heard from a birdie that this machine MIGHT come out in 3 versions, obviously one of them being a "SE" type bling bling machine, the other 2 possibly being a lower spec.

Also heard that there is a new clutch system - no more trying to get the clutch shaft dialed in..... Possibly "new" like the Shuttle had????

CG is expected to be more like the Avant/Aurora type.....

All I want is the head tho. I think it will be "super rocking"............................

As far as I know, this is the only 90 to come with the sprag type auto hub. Our Freya Evo's now include the hubs as we put them in here and the cost of the kits went up 70.00 accordingly. That is a MRC deal at the moment. Not sure if the rest of the Evo 90's around the world will include the sprag type auto hub or not. Ours will regardless.

Something to consider before you purchase an Evo from an overseas supplier. Pay $70 more now or over $200 later.

I really don't know why that sprag upgrade should have THAT many parts, and THAT expensive. Doesn't the XCell unit have very few parts now? It use to be 2 pieces remember?

Oh, and Jeff always knows how to get you the best deals.

As I am not an engineer, so I cannot comment on the number of parts being used can be redcuced or not, but that is Hirobo's way and it does seem to hold up. That part is not cheap to make just from the cost of the bearing and running up the market chain of pricing, etc. Add in Japanese maching time cost, extra bearings, etc it climbs quickly. Plus there distribution middle men to bring the parts to you. Using normal manufacturing cost mutlipliers, that part would cost more outside of this industry.

The hub really only has one extra part, the support sleeve for the bearing instead of using the hub as the support itself. And bearings are used instead of bushings.

Other than that, a high quality part with high performace.

Does that answer it?

The sprague upgrade doesn't have a bunch of parts, it's only 2 (3 if you could remove the bearing itself. It's expensive because that's the way Hirobo metal parts are. They are all ridiculously priced, but they are the absolute best when it comes to quality. and don't wear out.

There is the housing, the top ring, 2 radial bearings, the sprag bearing itself, the auto sleeve and the hardened and ground sleeve that is pressed and keyed to the outer hub housing and the 6 SHCS's that bolt the assembly together to the top gear.

I stand corrected. As I took it out of the package to install, it was just 2 pieces (not including the screws that hold them together, of course.
