Mine was a Sinclair ZX-81. My dad bought me the kit for Christmas in 1982. Yes, it was a built it yourself kit! I bought the "big 16K Ram" so that I could run the flight simulator

I think you mean 1982 right not 1882. I don't think that was even invented back then or even thought of yet. That must have been your pride and joy though whwn you were a kid right?

Haha! I guess I should proof read Yep! 9 years old and I had a SWEET computer I was so far ahead of the curve in our first computer courses at school that the teacher made me his assistant. We used Radio Shack TRS-80's in those classes.

Mine was the Texas Instruments TI-99-4A with the added cassete tape drive. I remeber really wanting the expansion module for it but never got it.

I do remember in high school seeing the Timex Sinclair computer and I had friends who had the Radio Shack TRS-80 and the Commadore 64.

My first computer (household) was 1977, TRS-80 Model I, Level I. I don't want to think about what my dad paid for it, but suffice to say my clothes came from KMart on good days and hand-me-downs on normal days. By 1980 we had probably 5 computers. My first computer that I could call mine was a TRS-80 Model 4p with two 160k floppy drives and a 300 baud modem (yes I was online at 8 years old).

I guess you could say I have some years of computer experience under the belt.
