I was helping a friend put the fan assembly on last night came across a minor issue.. Does that fan completely cover the bottom collut next to the front bearing.. we could not get the fan all the on... about 1.5 mm of the gold collut was showing out of the bottow of the fan..
I was hoping for a screw on fan...

Mine is the same way,no problem.I do not like screw on fans because there is really no way to set the run out or get a true balence, this is just my opinion now!I allways dial indicate the fan/hub and balence the fan aswell. If you take alittle time in this area and make sure it is right, you and all you electronics will be very happy,it just makes for a smoother running machine.

Buzzsaw is correct, you will have a slight bit of the collect showing , this is normal. with this design you can get very close to the proper runout with little effort.thanks
