What headspeeds are people running?

What is the max safe headspeed for the woodies?

I am converting from 5S to 6S and have pinions that will do either 1950 (14t) or 2380 (17t) (and faster, have 18 and 19) based on 85% efficiency. I was running 2100 with the woodies on 5S.

Just trying to avoid buying to many new pinions. Or has someone got a 15t they want to send me?

Thanks.

I am running around 2850 RPMs HS , but I have a set of MAH 425 carbon blades...
I had a set of the woodies explode at around 2650 RPMs ; so do not excede 2550RPM HS with the woodies..
However , I have found that the EP8-EX cyclic and collective come alive with awsome speed over the headspeed of 2700RPM, but , it gets uncontrolable fast at over 3100RPMs....

Thanks. So just under 2400 should be fine with woodies.

I need to pick up some carbon blades.

Pinecone,
I have an SP and an EX, the SP is flying with all stock gear from the factory with the addition of the double bearing swash and longer main shaft. the HS is just under 2400 at about 2380.
The EX is using an SP flybar and paddles and is right around 2700. with MSComp 395s

I used to fly the SP at about 2500 but the spindle shaft bent right where the nut attaches,in the blade grip, it wasnt enough to effect flight, and in fact flew perfectly, but was an indicater that the HS was too much for it.

Thanks. I will bump the HS up when I switch to CF, but I have a couple more sets of woodies to break first.

So I will go with the 17t pinion and just under 2400.
