I was wondering on people opinions of failsafe or hold setting?

I currently use the hold function on all helis/channels as recommended by the hobby shop man.

It is a good idea or should I set the thr channel to failsafe of 0 only? Other wise if there was a problem the heli would keep flying away.

If power to the receiver is lost would all the servos keep the current position and the motor would also cut as the ESC has no input??? I'm using a JR 2720 36mhz radio
