China is seeing it's worst winter in 100 years
I think its hilarious that the people who go around cutting and pasting Rush Limbaugh quotes don't even understand the basics about AGW. Global warming disrupts weather patterns, THAT'S WHAT IT DOES!

So every time you peabrains point to some place in the world that is REALLY cold during the winter as proof that AGW is not real, you make yourselves look like ignorant hicks...

Maybe you should try clicking your heels together as you repeat your mantra.

The above are the considered, thought provoking, scientific arguments detailing why spewing trillions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere is not affecting global climate.

The IPCC has detailed in many lengthy reports just how and why it has.

Every single scientific organization of national or international standing agrees with the IPCC conclusions.

Every major country in the world, except for the U.S., has signed the Kyoto treaty to address global warming. It appears that the U.S. agrees the problem is real as well, but has issues with the treaty (which I can understand).

Even the most ardent naysayers (i.e. G.W. Bush and the oil companies) have changed their story and now admit the problem is real and must be addressed.

But it makes sense to ignore all that if you're not comfortable with their results.

Those who defend Gore or any "end of the world" prophecies look like cult members to me. The warming trend over the past 30 years is barely within mans ability to measure global temperatures. Severe weather and climate change has always been a part of life on earth.

The Kyoto treaty demands that the USA returns our co2 output to a pre-1997 level, while China only has to limit the growth of their emissions. The USA should never sign that piece of trash! Sadly, McCain, Obama, and even Hillary have already made it known, that they will sign it. If any of them had even read the damn thing, they would not even consider it.

No one is defending Gore. We're talking about a scientific reality which exists with or without Gore. No one that raises these concerns EVER uses Gore to make their point. Only the naysayers bring up Gore because he's easy to attack, and they figure if they attack Gore the problem won't be real. It'd be difficult to explain, but it doesn't work that way.

Also, no one is predicting the end of the world. Hell, we're not even predicting the end of human life. But we are predicting a climate that will change the globe to make things awfully unpleasant for your children and grand children.
The warming trend over the past 30 years is barely within mans ability to measure global temperatures. Severe weather and climate change has always been a part of life on earth.
If only the global scientific community was aware of your data. I strongly urge you to publish these findings.

Very good point. That certainly proves the problem is not real. But do me a favor. Find one quote from me on this or any other forum in which I say we should sign the treaty. Go back as far as you like.

You're right of course. Why would any of them have done as much research as you on the topic?

No, its considered arguing like Spork. Who just sticks his fingers in his ears and cries the UN told him so it must be true and uses Gore rhetoric while not using his prophet’s name.

I am not saying that spewing tons of co2 into the atmosphere is a good thing, pollution is not a good thing. My problem is with anyone who thinks that we can accurately predict the weather over the next three weeks, let alone the next 150 years.
If only the global scientific community was aware of your data. I strongly urge you to publish these findings.
The first weather satellite, TIROS-1 was was launched in 1960. Prior to that, weather prediction was a complete and total guess.Whether scientists will admit it or not, we have less than 50 years of accurate data. That simply isn't a large enough sample for any accurate long term predictions. Also, we have only been tracking the polar ice caps since 1979. That is way too small of a sample to even know the real behavior of them.
Find one quote from me on this or any other forum in which I say we should sign the treaty.
No need, you have repeatedly brought this up,
they've now signed the Kyoto protocol - leaving the U.S. as the only major country on the planet that has not.
and by doing so, you imply that we should have already signed it.

No one claims to be able to accurately predict the weather even a week in advance. Weather and global climate are two drastically different things. It's like you sitting at a blackjack table and me trying to predict your next 50 hands. I couldn't begin to guess whether you'll be up or down in 50 hands. But I guarantee I can make a very good estimate of how much you will have lost in another 5000 hands.
Whether scientists will admit it or not, we have less than 50 years of accurate data.
Yes, scientists all over the world are lying to us. Presumably they feel confident enough in the data they've collected through a huge number of methods to stake their reputations on the conclusions that data leads to.
No need, you have repeatedly brought this up,
That's a BRILLIANT way of saying you can't find a single place where I've said we should sign the treaty.
you imply that we should have already signed it.
The only thing I've stated or implied is that the global scientific community is of one mind. The fact that almost every country in the world has signed the treaty is simply an indication that they are aware of the fact. Try not to put words in my mouth.

I find it entertaining that I'm accused of following a "prophet" that only the naysayers talk about, when there's no way around the fact that the naysayers believe this entire thing is a global conspiracy perpetrated by scientists and governments of the world.

I'll make you a deal. I don't even follow politics and I'll take that bet. You name the amount. What do you say?

And don't ask who I think will be the next president. I don't know. I'm just so highly confident in you being wrong that I'm willing to bet an amount of your choosing on that fact.

Spork's argument is that if the hype says everyone else is jumping off a bridge than you should do it to because this is how science is done. Doesn't matter that few are actually jumping off the bridge or if they are all jumping off at the same height as long as the IPCC says they all are and then sells it as a universal agreement. But when you start looking at how the IPCC arrived at its report, who signed it, and who the 2500 contributors what there actual participation was then you will feel the need to laugh in an alarmist's face. But the IPCC, Gore, and Oreskes were able to bring the idea of this "consensus" to the public. So rather than look at pesky facts and data, the alarmists can now just keep repeating the word "consensus" and hold their fingers in the ear. Thankfully most scientists didn’t get the memo and research continues.

But when Alarmists are confronted with facts, the "consensus" seems to have wiggle room when convenient. When Gore was confronted with the fact that the best estimates for rising sea levels are far less dire than he claims in his movie, Gore said scientists "don't have any models that give them a high level of confidence". He then said "scientists "don't know... They just don't know". It doesn't matter to alarmists what is true or not as long as public perception sides with them.

As far as Kyoto goes, it was rejected 95-0 by the Senate. Hillary, Obama, McCain and anyone else can tout their "green" credentials by hugging an alarmist but Kyoto requires a senate vote.

It's also interesting when you look at the history of climate alarmism (From cooling to warming and back) you find very little doubt reported despite the fact there is such.
I find it entertaining that I'm accused of following a "prophet" that only the naysayers talk about, when there's no way around the fact that the naysayers believe this entire thing is a global conspiracy perpetrated by scientists and governments of the world.
I wouldn't consider governments taking advantage of UN BS to be a conspiracy. Just as they took advantage of the Oil for Food program. Its what they do.

Done. For such a small amount I don't think an escrow makes sense. Can you think of a trusted third party to hold the cash?

Yeah, that's the problem. I don't know enough about the history of science.

We're not talking about the dark ages when the church was "science". And despite what you think there has never been anything remotely akin to consensus that the earth was cooling in the 70's. I defy you to identify a single instance in which something studied this thoroughly by this many scientists worldwide has later proven to be wrong.
