Nah... the bitching will always go on Democrats will whine about McCain because he is a Republican. Republicans will bitch about him because he is a liberal. The next four years will provide plenty of reasons to complain

McCain will be the next president and a new conservative Nationalist party will be formed.

Must not be old enough to remember Jimmy Carter.

Interestingly, I have been doing a lot of reading and research about the Civil War lately and the Democrats of that era were saying/complaining of many of the same types of things reference to Lincoln that they have been saying about Bush in the modern era, incompetent, inability to run/manage a war, demanding more social spending, dumb about the economy and just generally spreading a hate message leading up to the 1864 elections. Interesting reading.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Yeah, I can't imagine how much it would suck to not be at war losing thousands of young americans, and killing tens of thousands of Iraqies. It would really suck to be investing in alternative energies so we could stop depending on foriegn oil and reclaim our place as technological and financial world leaders.

Boy that Harvard grad with a Nobel peace prize sure is a moron. If only he had access to you as an advisor.

Sounds crappy to me too. NOT!!

I do not support war in any way. Man should be able to solve problems with out killing or fighting.

If John Mcain wins, we will be at war for YEARS to come. I for one do not want to support that, or see more troops die. And for what? We should worry about US and figure out ways to not have homeless people living in The United States. Spend money on programs to help people...our people. Its not all roses and candy for everyone here in the good ol USA. A lot of people need help. Uh Katrina comes to mind, along with many other events.

Im voting for Change, I hope to hell it happens. Yes we can...

With you I admit it's a bit difficult. Perhaps I misunderstood "moron" as the compliment you intended it to be.

Yes, I insulted Gore. I really don't like the phoney liar. There are of course many like him in politics on both sides. The country may be bad off in some ways now, but if he had gotten in.....I do try not to insult fellow RR members though, and if anyone thinks I did, I am sorry for that.

I let myself get carried away sometimes, and should be more careful about insulting the folks on this forum. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree about Gore. For what it's worth I wish he'd change some things (like any politician), but I do give him credit for using his position to try and bring to light a global concern that I know is very real. I assure you we Americans are practically alone in questioning that fact. With the new prime minister in Australia they've now signed the Kyoto protocol - leaving the U.S. as the only major country on the planet that has not.

Despite the heroic efforts of those that would like to convince us otherwise, global warming is a reality, and there will be no need for me to try and prove it. Time will take care of that.

On the other hand, it won't matter if we don't develop alternative energy sources, because we have an energy based economy, and we're much closer to running out than most would like to believe. I strongly recommend the book "Out of Gas" by CalTech professor David Goodstein to anyone interested in the topic.

China is seeing it's worst winter in 100 years so other than encouraging the west to put artificial caps on their economy, I don't think they have much real interest in AGW. If anything, they are probably freely spewing CO2 right now in the hope they can get warmer while lecturing us to spool down our economy. Russia and Japan almost walked from the Bali conference. While Russia likes the economic caps AGW alarmists want to put on themselves they are telling people to "Buy felt boots and fur coats." So other than the UN lip service (The UN still has credibility on anything?) the belief in AGW extends mostly to just putting caps on western economy, which outside liberal land has been shown to be a cure worse than the 'disease'. None who signed Kyoto have met the terms. Al Gore even argued against it before he started making so much money as the Green Potentate. Plus for a guy who made GW a household name, he did a lot to undermine his preaching by giving his film the Michael Moore treatment. But the great thing about Alarmists is they don't need any of their predictions to come true in order to keep the faith. In fact it seems their proof is in whom they can get to pay lip service to their warm mongering. But it's not the first time we declared the sky is falling and won't be the last.
