Firstly, my name is Tim and Im addicted to helis.Ive flown airplanes and been involved with rc cars (nitro and electric) for a long time but helis seemed like a lot of stress so I stayed away...till now. Anyway, I bought a 450 v2 and built it but when I started practicing on Realflight I could not fly the electric worth beans but I do pretty well (virtually) with the 50 gas heli so I got a good deal on a 600n pro and took it. Now for the questions, I've combed over the forums to answer alot of my questions but Im still not sure about these things:

1. Could I use a Logictech 2100T gyro with a 600n and why not if its no (Suspect the answer is no) would a G500T work?.

2. What servos are recommended, I have a JR 3400G for the tail.

3. What pipe is recommended, I have a O.S. .50 Hyper on the way.

4. Can I use one of my 11.1v 2200mah lipos for a starter battery and if so which starter will work with this?

Im going to part out the 450v2 and before I do I want to figure out what to keep and what to sell, any help is appreciated...things are getting out of hand (I'm obsessed) so Im going to stick with this heli and would like to buy things I can grow with, I fly the sim pretty well in hover and forward flight so I think that by the time Im done building this I'll be ready to fly the real thing, does that sound reasonable? Any help is appreciated, thanks all.

Sure, no issue with that.

2. What servos are recommended, I have a JR 3400G for the tail.
You should get some good servos for a 50 sized with really good specs. Youll want fast and hi torque for the cyclics
You could use regular servos but if you get INTO flying helis you will wind up upgrading later so I say buy as much as you can afford now. Futaba 9252 or JR 8717s

3. What pipe is recommended, I have a O.S. .50 Hyper on the way.
The Align 50 pipe gives about the best power and bang for your buck

4. Can I use one of my 11.1v 2200mah lipos for a starter battery and if so which starter will work with this?
Well some will differ here. Yes you can but I don't use lipos for this. A simple 12 volt gel cell works good with a 50 sized. Its the starter youll want to beef up if you have a smaller standard starter.

Some starters take batteries right on them so they are portable. I just think that the Lipo battery is a little fragile, and expensive when you consider the cost os a Gel cell (18 bucks)

I would not use the 2100T with the 600N. Logitech makes a 6100G that is for 50 Sized helis.

I would not use the 3400G with the 600N.

You are attempting to put components designed for a 450 sized heli into an aggressive 50 sized machine. The cost your first crash due to failed components will far out-way the cost of a 6100T or the 500t for that matter. IMO the GY401 is the best cost v. performance gyro out there.

Servos are a personal preference. Do a search, and you can see what others are putting on there 600N's.

have fun.

I agree with Zane. Also stay away from the JR821's. You will find them for sale all over the place, they are a little lite for a 50 size machine servo.

1. Could I use a Logictech 2100T gyro with a 600n and why not if its no (Suspect the answer is no) would a G500T work?.
I would go with a bigger gyro that can handle vibration better. The 2100T is great on the 450 but is sensitive to vibs. I would suggest the JR 770, suppost to be better then the G500T. Others to consider would be the Logitech 6100, Futaba 611, Furaba 401 or Spartan ds760. It looks like the JR770 w/ 8900 servo and the Logitech 6100 are the best bang for the buck.
2. What servos are recommended, I have a JR 3400G for the tail.
I'd start with 9252 servos, good basic servo and will take you a long way. Can be found pretty cheap as well. The 3400G is too small for the tail servo, see above for recommended servos.
3. What pipe is recommended, I have a O.S. .50 Hyper on the way.
I really like the Hatori SB-50HP, but have heard good things about the align pipe as well.
4. Can I use one of my 11.1v 2200mah lipos for a starter battery and if so which starter will work with this?
Only if you want to puff them the first start! Get a lead cell pack or two 7.4 nicad packs wired in series. I use a Torqmaster 80 (I think) never had a problem starting it.

You won't really be able to move anything over from the 450. To be honest I'd just keep the 450. Seems like you can't get much out of used 450's right now in the classifieds. The 450 is great for those weekday lunch breaks where taking the bigger nitro out is impractical. Work really hard on your orientations in the sim and you'll do fine. I'd at least get to the point you can hover in all orientations (especially nose in) upright before going for the real thing. Is there someone local to help you setup the 600N? It's very similar to the 450 but there are some things with the motor that you might benefit from some help.

Thanks.
This helps alot, The reason I asked about the 2100T is because it is compared to the 401 alot and I know the 401 is used on the 600n but its alot smaller so I can see how the vibration would be difficult for it. Looks like I'll start looking for some 9252 servos and a gy611 or 6100T and an Align pipe. I have a bit of experience with nitro engines in cars so I'm hoping that helps. I dont plan to fly around any people til Im sure I wont kill anyone but right now I spend about 4 or five hours a day on the sim so I hope the translates well to the real thing.Ive noticed that by parting out their helis folks usually get a better price and I'll need to trade/sell what I have to get the 600n in the air. Thanks again for the help and comments, all the servo numbers were starting to run together, it seems llike they change those numbers alot and I will be probably buy all of this used so it helps to know whats good right now. Pray for me...

used I have an extra 401 and 9253 servo

You should be able to get some good deals, like on the 401s It is pretty important to get a servo to match the gyro (whatever you get)
I think bang for the buck is the JR 770 cause there are several servos you can use with it.

Servos: You dont have to go digital, get good fast analog ones for now (if saving money is required) Lots of folks upgrading. There are good fairly fast servos (.15-.18) out there for short money.

Yea didnt know about the lipo and the starter thing, good thing someone was aware
