My gf actually tried to pose as a fellow RR user to get info from me for a gift for my bday. Unfortunately, she sent me an email instead of a PM and so I saw that it was her email address. So I'm suggesting that Mark create a section or a how to guide for the gift givers out there who want to talk to someone without giving up their identity. What does everyone think?

LOL just tell her to give you lots of cash for assorted Heli parts. When the parts show up let her see and thank her for buying you so many gifts that you definately needed.

Cheers

Please tell me that you didn't blow it and tell her that you were on to her little scheme.

One vote here for that. Even better, start a gift registry like you can do at Walmart or Target for a baby or wedding shower....only here you register for your birthday or Christmas.

Hmmm, got me thinkin, a registry page, you pick out the stuff you want for the wish list, then email invites to all your friends with a link to the list. As your buds purchase the stuff from the list, that item drops off the list so you don't get multiples of a certain item. I know I know, who wouldnt want multiple sets of V blades, but don't want to get too greedy.

Might take some doing Mark, but think of the possibilities with your sponsors if you could link a registry page straight to them for wish lists......yum.

I agree, mine asks me every year...."so since I dont know to get you something that you want, just tell me"....which she is frustrated as it kills the surprise....anyway, great idea!

I have found that taking her to the hobby shop and flying field with you, pointing out what you plan on getting in the future works wonders. It is especially effective if you introduce her to the wife of the hobby shop owner. They talk around Christmas and Birthday time and the information is conveyed.

That one has worked several times with me. A complete surprise each time !

Now if I can just get the trips to the Porsche dealership to work out that way

Ok I will speak from experience boys. Having a registry on this website would be absolutely pointless and here is why. First and foremost RR is not a store. Second yes I do know there are classifieds on here but most of your girls who buying for you probably wouldn't understand the classified section and be hesitant to buy anything from there. Plus we love treating you guys with brand new stuff. We would rather get it straight from the store. I do know heli proz has a wish list area and I looked at some other sites but did not find any others that did. Now granted my knowledge of the different stores is limited. The way I figured out what things to purchase was buy paying close attention to conversations that have been had in the past. For example: Christmas I got my man the YS 91. I had to remember that from a conversation that happened in July. So yes it would be nice to have something but what? Maybe the easiest solution would to be an area on the profile page where you could list your wishes but a registry on here is a bit far fetched.
