weird noise
I have a new knight sport 50, it has the os50 hyper engine. Right at take off it makes a really funny noise. Sounds like a lean up noise but it has all new fuel lines on it and the engine has new bearings in it. I have replaced the black gear for the white delrin gear but it still makes the noise. Whatever it is affects the tail and i have played with mixture setting and it does not change. It only seems to do it at the certain rpm. Anyone have any ideas, any thing would be appreciated.

I would bet your pinion gear has come loose from the top bearing. It's supposed to be Locktited to that bearing so the pinion cannot spin inside the bearing. To be sure, you will have to drop the engine just a little to see if the clutch bell and pinion will move up and down in the bearing.

Additionally, when you install the engine in the heli, make sure the clutch is not jammed up too far in the bell. That will put a thrust load on the radial bearing at the top of the pinion which can also cause some noise.
The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.

I would suggest you oil that pinion bearing and try it again. The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.
