Hello guys,

A friend of mine gave me a LAMA copy from Walkera, that has a RX404 reciever, but no Tx.

I have not been able to get it to work with my 14MZ on PPM or PPM-R, and same on my pal's Airtronics RD6000 on PPM and PPM-R.

Does anyone have any idea which Tx matches this Rx ?

I believe only Walkera Tx's work with Walkera Rx's. It's probably the main reason I won't buy another Walkera helicopter even though I'm interested in one or two.

Sorry... you can probably find a Tx cheap on ebay.

Wow are you serious... ?? thats really bad news for this heli then.

Can anyone else confirm this ?

Also, is there another brand of Rx that could work on this heli with my Futaba Tx ?

Or is there a known way to modify this "all in one" unit to accept an outer Rx ?

Walkera Rx
Hi,
The Walkeras are positive shift like JR but they have their own channel mapping. You can get the Walkera Tx to talk to aftermarket Rxs as long as they are positive or auto shift.
On a 3in1 or 4in1 that is a problem but you can find replacements if you thing that the heli is worth it.

If I remember correctly the Walkera some of the walkera receivers are NOT 72 mhz. That may be the problem....Ron

First this is a 72Mhz obviously.

baby_uh1, my Futaba 14MZ has PPM or PPM Reverse which i guess is positive shift, but i tried both while the Tx was tramsmitting on the same channel the Rx crystal is on (original walkera crystal) and no joy.

So i tried a RD6000 using CH 28 and put an Airtronics CH 28 Rx crystal in, again no joy on both PPM and PPM-R.

Any ideas how to get any of this to work ?

and what do you mean they have their own channel mapping ?

RX
Other than the shift thing I don't know why it's not working. What I mean by channel mapping is that with Walkera channel 1 isn't aleiron, channel 2 elevator, 3 throttle, etc. The channel assignments are mixed up compared to everyone else in the universe.
I have in the past been able to use a Walkera Tx with an aftermarket Rx but not the other way around but I hear that it's possible.

I don't know about all Walkera Rx's, but I can tell you for sure the one for the 22E won't work with any other Tx other than a Walkera Tx. The issue has nothing to do with frequency, shift, channel mapping, or any other "normal" Tx/Rx parameter. There's extra information transmitted after the normal channels. It's digital data and the 4-in-1 won't initialize without it.

Like I said, I don't know about all Walkera Rx's, but I can't recall ever reading a post where someone said they used a different Tx with their Walkera Rx.

You can sometimes get a Walkera Tx to work with a different Rx because the Rx just ignores the extra digital data.
