Just a note To give you the results of the quick connect upgrade from Horizon uk.

All my receivers cmae back with the upgrade, There is no additional sticker or replacement sticker on the receivers, the engineer has written QC with a marker pen on the receiver case. You can test it works and see if the upgrade has been acheived so a sticker is not really required.

I must add that the service from Horizon has been outstanding, I sent them out Monday Afternoon, and got them back Thursday morning. 5 receivers upgraded free of charge and posted back FOC. Absolutely marvellous, I wonder how many of your FASST users are wishing they bought Spektrum after they found they would have to return their TX's at their cost to have the 0 id number re programmed?
It would be a good idea to have the ability to dowload upgrades and re programme the RX's at home on your PC, hope this comes available in the future.

Good luck

Futaba USA has been eating the cost of shiping both ways. But it would still suck even more than sending the receivers for an update. The Futaba service should not be considered as optional, and the Spektrum receiver service is really optional.

But once again all of the systems that are actually out have had problems, just some more than others. Still waiting to see if Airtronics or Corona get it right the first time.

I agree, the service was optional and really a piece of mind thing more than anything else. The quick connect however really does work well on the bench, and is probably equal to an old style PCM type re connect time.

Plus the added bonus that the receivers flash if they have had a brown out situation, works well.

Good luck

To me the flashing after a brown out is more important. At least then you know why things went wrong and can attack the problem.

That said I've still been too lazy to send in my stuff. Maybe I'll get it all together this weekend and send it out next week. The more I think about it, the more certain I am about sending my TX module too. Who knows if there are any firmware changes that should be made to it too. And I think I may ask them to do a mod for me, if they won't I'll do it myself when it gets out of warranty. I want the RF light on my Futaba 9CHP to blink with the LED in the DM-8 module so I can see from the front what is happening. All it takes is to pull pin 3 low when the DM-8 module LED is on. Should be a simple enough thing to accomplish with a couple of wires and a transistor. I made the same work with the LP5DSM module conversion that I built, and it works quite well.
