After hovering around in tail in and side to side for a few month I am finally learning nose in. I was going to learn on the sim first but since my kids broke the controller I couldnt.

I never thought I could do nose in because i was scared of the 600 hitting me. Someone suggested i use a hoola hoop to make some "training wheels". Great suggestion. Now I could just slide it around close to the ground getting the hang of it. Into my 4th pack today I was able to hover it for over 2 minutes at ee level.

I am still respectfull of the heli but not terrified. The whole flight i only set it down like 5 or 6 times.

I think I motivated myself. You see yesterday i was going to buy a new x9303 to replace my 6ex. I told myself why are you going to buy a fancier radio if you cant even hover nose in. I then promissed myself when I can fly a whoe pack nose in, Iwould buy a new radio.

Hopefully by the end of next week I will have "earned "my new radio.

I know this is not a big deal for most but getting over that fear is a big deal to me.

I know, nose in is somehow weird... Then I practiced lots and I could do it no problem, then I realized I wasnt comfortable as side in as I always nose in hoverd, then I practiced that lots and now I can piro hover (nearly as cool as a piro flip).

Sim helped lots.

Good luck with the new radio (surely you will get it)

Hi Hakim,

I know what you mean about nose in. I really had a hard time with it too. I could do it fine on the sim, but not with the real thing. I was so worried about crashing my Swift.

Finally I went to the LHS and bought a Blade CP that I wouldn’t care about. But when I got it home, it looked like more work than it was worth. So I took it back and bought another two battery packs instead. I just started flying more and finally got it.

It took me 80 flights before I was able to takeoff and land nose in. Now I have around 500 flights under my belt, and I wonder what the big deal was. Now inverted backwards flight is on my list to learn. But I know that if I keep practicing, I’ll get it.

Keep ‘em flying.

The controllers are usually easy to fix. Having a decent sim is the best tool an RC heli pilot can own...Now that you`ve learned nose-in, you`re going to find that hula hoop trick won`t help you very much while learning inverted hover

Also, you really need that sim, nose in is not hard, but the sim helps a ton, wait till you try something else, i cant stress the sim enough, i learned inverted with the sim, then went out and did it the first time for real with no problems, get that sim fixed, now the fun begins, congrats...Ivan!
