Can I get some feedback from those that have moved to Vbar for AP work and ditched the AP2001 type solutions? Is it better? Worse? what's the story?? More stable? more reliable?? Or is it just crap for AP?

Thanks,

Helicommand Rigid or Helicommand Profi. I just switched to the flybarless with the Profi. Have only been able to do a couple test hovers. Benefits I see is less parts, less weight (I saved 6.1oz), 15-20% more efficient (is what I heard).

What about performance for stability?? Does it hold a position better? Can I expect to "park" the bird in a spot easier?

I don't think it will be any better as far as horizontal hold. Don't really see why stability would be better or worse with or without flybar for AP needs.

I'll know more when I get a chance to do more tests.

Stability may be the wrong word here.. I am refering to it's ability to hold a position against light wind. The Ap200i that I am using now holds the bird level jsut fine. But it will drift in the wind.. kinda iritating to me.. I have heard that the Vbar will compensate for wind like a tail with heading hold gyro..

Comments??

Oh, like the "ballooning effect" they talk about. Thats a good question, I will check that next time I get a chance. 'Kookboy" I know is flying the HC rigid for AP and I think DJ might be going that route soon.

I'm flying flybarless with the HC Rigid model.

It still drifts in the wind just like the ap2000i but with the advantage that it will stay level in any environment/surroundings (no horizon required).

It's also better for FF and video. Tends to smooth out the thumbs.

The Vstabi is not a stabilization/IR device. It won't hold your heli's attitude/altitude.

Although the programming features are amazing, it's meant specifically for flybarless heads. That's it.

... But honey it was only $$$
