I am going to setup my 400 on my DX7 for s&giggles and was wondering what is a good method to lock in the swash level and at 0 degrees why I work on my linkages, this would also come in handy after a crash when rebuilding. I have a raptor and bought a alumnium disc that fits around main shaft that keeps it locked in at zero and level to heli, works very well but obviosuly wont fit 400. Trying to figure out a way to do this with 400.

Any ideas?

there is a very nice tool that sits on the swash for leveling. It contacts the swash at the three points the links connect to the servos. That way you can check for interactions through out the pitch range.
There are some nice video's on the freak site for the basics
of setting CCPM

i miake my own tools out of wood. just keep building up plys of wood under the swash till you reach zero on the blades. i cut it in a c shape so i can slide it under swash without pulling off head like some tools. works great and free.

The nice thing about the tool you have to pull the head off, is that you can see even the very slightest interaction as you run the pitch through the its range. Instead of just checking the basic setup at 0

I am not sure why it would not work with the 400, unless the main mast diameter is too large, or the 400 swash size. I will check today.

I just checked on a couple other sites, and folks are using the leveler for the trex 450 without any problems.
