Sometimes I wonder about myself. I am in the middle of refitting my Hawk Sport, it's getting all new bearings and anything eles I see worn. It had been going very good, until last night.
Installing a new boom, required you to CA Glue some tail shaft support rings inside the boom. No Big deal. It ws a fresh bottle, the rings were deeper than the nozzle could reach, so I just stuck it in all the way and squeezed "a few drops" at 12 and 6 oclock on both ends and set it aside. well it was in the way so I put on the tail case and stuck the boom in the frame. 45 mins. later I was putting stuff away and touched the tail case, it was sticky. The Ca ran out BOTH ends, melted my tail case, ran into the new bearings (all 4), on my gears, and glues the boom to the frame!!!!. I ended up getting the boom out of the frame but the tail case, bearings, and gears are all gonners! Good thing I found this last night 'fore the glue was totally set.

So was it watching TV, drinking beer, both or just dumb thumbs???
Heck now Im busting parts ON THE GROUND! So yea, sometimes I wonder about myself!

RIP ROMAN

i never glued those in. if they are not tight enuff on their own to stay in i would put them in and center punch the boom on either side to stake them in.

I'd chalk that one up to dumb thumbs.... Heli building only gets better with more beer.

One time in college I came home from a party and started repairing my old Sceadu. I was in no shape to be walking, let alone working on a heli...The next day when I was sober, I double checked everything I had done the night before...it was spot on. My friends still give me a hard time about that one.

I have a similar story. I came home from a party one night and a mate was going to crash at my place. I had an inflatable air bed so he could sleep in the lounge but the electric pump's batteries were dead. This was at about 4am in the morning.

So, I go downstairs to my shop, crack open the housing, wire and solder in a male deans so I can plug a 2600mAh Lithium Rx pack into it. Man, I have never seen that airbed inflate so fast! I can't believe I was able to solder with the state I was in... I think I did the solder job in about 20 minutes. When I got back upstairs he was asleep on my couch. LOL.

My input only... That after a crash and I am doing the "salvage" program, I find that beer (Coors Light) quiets the voices in my head of the mistakes that I made earlier that day, Then when I have had enought (similar to the day I had ) I get up and chase down the parts needed and get my game on again.
I give you ten points for admitting the mistake, Hey anyone ever fuse fingers together trying to glue something together.....come on we have all done it.......

Oh yeah,,,, One day at a time............................
