Has anyone found a source for carbon tubes that can replace the alu. torque tube from Align? With all the 'bent TT' postings (I also received a bent one - but straightened it over my knee) it would seem that a $5 carbon tube could be used to replace the aluminum one.
I had sever on hand but none of them were the right inner dimension.

I looked at Central Hobbies (only place I know that carry diff. sizes of carbon tubes) and didn't see any suitable replacements.

In a crash you could probably re-use the ends and bearing - just replace the carbon tube. $5 loss.

Indeed, the OD is 8mm. Do you know what the ID is? This is needed for the ends.

Cool - it looks like BFcarbon (here on RR) carries the carbon tubes that will fit (you need to ask them not to cut it in half)

Can you use a metal tail, the Pro, with a carbon boom? I could never mount a metal tail on the R50 with a carbon boom!! You would figure the carbon boom would crack !!

Zac - this post is for the torque tube - not the boom.

bent shafts
Hello Gents,
I just thought i would chime in on this topic. There is one size easton aluminum arrow shaft that is a direct fit for the torque tube size! I believe it is a easton legacy XX75 2219. Easton makes some of the finest sraightest aluminum shafts available anywhere. Although you cant always find something to fit every challenge. This does and the tolerance is within .003 over the span of
31". I to have recieved some bent tubes in the past, and when i duff it in i pull the ends off make sure they are not bent, cut the arrow shaft down to length and drill the ends of the shaft to accept the pins, slide the bearing on the shaft then green loctite the ends in and drive the pins back in. Sounds like alot of work but for 5 bucks a shaft and nothing better to do in the winter it makes for some good fun. What the L!

Aluminum shaft
I am truly sorry Baddraptor if you ordered the 2219 shafts i posted. 2219 is not the correct arrow size. I should have checked for sure before posting. I stopped at the archery shop and the arrows that they gave me that worked for the torque tube are no longer in production. It's been a while since i made them and i'm on my last one of two. Probably why they where free huh! Once again i am truly sorry to all for posting the incorrect info!
