Align 50 High Performance muffler noise level?!?
Hi guys,

What's your opinion about the noise level produced by the pipe? (OS50 Hyper)

We might decide to ban it from our club

ok i think this is really weird because i have 3 friend that have 600ns with hypers and align pipes... 2 of them are really quite but one of them is extremely loud... the club that i sometimes fly at by my girlfriends house has a 82 db noise cap and my mp5 tests right at 80 but the align pipes havent been tested

I think its louder than a Hatori and not as loud as an MP2 and unless noise is a serious issue I dont know why they would be banned at a club.Andy

BarracudaHockey,

Noise is something that we must take into account as we're under strict regulation here in Belgium...

On a calibrated meter we did manage to measure up to 84dB for Trex600N located at 7m from it for a 1750rpm hovering...

Actually I didn't take a close look at other 600Ns so it might or might not be a bad muffler

91db at 2000+ rpm

The MP2 was certainly loud

The FunTech 3D TypeF is more quiet than the Hatori
and still seems to perform well

The internals of Align pipes do have a habbit of coming apart

My Align 50 muffler was certainly a loud one, but power was good. Since it broke internally I switched to a Hatori SAB50 pipe. The Hatori is very quite, but power is extremely evident._Sam B_

Ive run both the 522 and the later Align on Hypers back to back, and TBH the Align is a different sound not necessarily 'louder'.

Actually the Align sound is more on the high frequency side (too sharp!!!) which makes it very noticeable... (at 2000+rpm)... consequently we've banned its usage from our club

The Align pipe is quite a bit louder than the CY MP5 pipe (CY MP2 90 pictured below), from the cross section you can see that the second chamber has 2 layers of walls which aids the muffling process.

Thanks to: MR10X for the cross section (Align vs MP2)
