Can someone tell me if there is a difference with having the fly bar on top like the Raptor and the Align 600N is there one that is better than the other?

Its just a design consideration, they both work and most people would be hard pressed to tell the difference.

The further the blades are from the boom, is a good thing IMO.

I have never been able to tell any difference.

The flybar on the bottom gets the blades further from the boom to prevent strikes.

The flybar on top gets the blades closer to the helicopter vertical cg. Theoretically this gives a more axial roll response.

I have also heard others say that the flybar on the bottom is less expensive to manufacture but I don’t see that it would make much difference.

The performance and feel is control by the Bell-Hiller mixing ratio and flybar paddle shape and weight than whether the flybar is on top or bottom. If a Raptor had the same Bell-Hiller mixing ratio and paddles as a T600 they would fly almost exactly the same.
