First of all i would want to thank God that I'm still alive....Guess what, both the grips blown up when spooling up till mid stick...both the blades flew off the grips to 12o'clk and 4 o'clk position....i will just at 6 o clk...hence now doing the repair...and got nos of parts to get..

It really puzzled me and i'm still too shock to find out the real problem...probably material fatigue on the grips.....

Back to the main intent.. hope if anyone here can recommend a website to buy the SST eagle parts at a reasonable or cheaper price.. those FFZ-II parts...But most important is to get the cnc grips..I don't want to risk my life again....

the best is to get the whole head assembly...

Pls private message me or post it on to this if appropriate. tks in advance,

Wow, i have never heard of the plastic grips doing that on a Freya! I did however see it happen when someone used tsurugi 60 grips on a Freya 90! I hope you haven't done that! Try here:

My Freya did much the same thing at Wagga two years ago
(I think you were there Paul)

I took off into a hover, clicked into idle up, BANG

Only one grip let go - the other blade hacked the heli to bits

That Freya had taken a few hits with the previous owner

Wow Chong, thats rare..
Glad to hear you are safe in one piece for the New Year.

The blade grips are in pieces or did the bolt or bearing gave way?

As for parts, have you checked with SHS? Their prices for parts are very competitive. I dont see a need to order online. Once you factor in the shipping, it comes out to about the same most probably. They also ship out for those out of Singapore.

You can do a calculation of the cost of the parts needed by referring to the price in Yen thats on the manual. Basically just multiply the price in yen by 1.3 to get the price in Singapore cents. Eg. 1000yen x 1.3 = 1300 cents = $13

Hope that helps

thanks for the replies so far.

Fit, well, the main blade bolts, washers, and nuts are still intact together with the blades after the 2 blades flew off. it's the grips that gave way... thank God i'm still in one piece to celebrate the Chinese new year.....
