Today i was flying fast with fast turns some piroflips and stuff, not inverted yet with stock radio. Suddendly i got my Belt CP RIGHT in the sun and couldn't see it so it crashed. Damage was: Broken land skid, canopy, 1x main blade carbon, feathering shaft, main shaft. Main gear was ok i hit the hold before the ground. the battery seems to be a little damaged in the head. does this happen frequently to batteries? i haven't tested the battery yet, but should i try to charge the battery and run it?

Did you buy the cellpro or what charger do you have? If you got a good charger I would say give it a whirl my cellpro will give an error and quit charging a bad pack. Now the stock charger is different electrically, It may say its charging but not or not to full capacity.

I did the same thing before but it wasn't a problem. I know its easy to say and hard to do but next time don't give up stay with it till the end a crash is a crash your gonna be rebuilding anyway. I think you could of flew threw it the sun is only so wide If you got enough altitude you can fly through it without crashing. A lot of people can fly 3d but not many fly through that warm Portugal sun.

Do what you got to to get it goin again.

I have flown into the sun before and What I have found to work is give it forward and up on the collective at the same time. As long as you continue forward flight and give the up collective you will fly thru the sun and come out the other side.... Or do like I try to do now and keep the sun to your back all the time you fly...

Tom..... No "D" flying....

Let the battery sit somewhere that's fire-safe for a few hours. If it doesn't puff, and there's no sign of broken covering, check each individual cell's voltage. If all cells are above 3V each, charge slowly - about 100ma or less, again, in a fire-safe environment.

Check individual cells again after it sits for another hour or two. If all cells have held voltage, and are safely balanced, the battery may last a bit longer.

Keep an eye on it, though. If you have other batteries, or can afford new ones, it's best to get rid of this one. A damaged LiPo can go up in flames without warning.

I have seen carnage from a lipo fire but never experienced one there has got to be a vid somewhere?

Its cool that we can actually harness the power of these little things. Aint technology grand. I remember my eco8 called for a 7-10C cell nimh pack.

I can see a "Pre Flight Check List" comming. Towards the bottom, Sunglass ! The good ones that filter out the Glare. That way when you go threw the brite-ball, the heli comes out the other side, and you still can see it. It would only be gone for about 2 sec. With out them, it would take 2-4 sec. for your irus to open back up, and 1 more to focous again. Plus, when it happened, your "Anger-Rate", and Hart Rate, went up, knowing whats about to happen.

Eh tryan i did order but i will only get it next week. so i will wait for the cellpro charger to check on this battery. i have another 3 battery packs. it was a RCX pro battery 2200 mah 12C i just got home now and rechecked the heli, well... the crash was worse than i thought to be.

the main frame broke, the elevator servo broke gears, canopy is destroyed, landing skids broken, main shaft bent, flybar bent, one main blade broken. feathering shaft should be bent as well. should i upgrade the belt cp to aluminium metal edition? maybe it will hold better agaisnt these crashes =(

well i was flying against the sun but i guess it was due to inexperience that i lost control of it, it stayed too long in the way of the sun i couldn't see it, when i got the sight of it again, it was running wild agaisnt the floor upside down, and i don't use idle up yet, i guess if i had idle up the crash could have been more soft. probably i couldn't avoid the crash in idle up but who knows that the crash wouldn't be this bad xp now i won't fly for the next 15 days. esky-heli.com only gets back from holiday day 13th.

i was even thinking in buying a trex 450 se metal edition but i think i won't be buying another helicopter while i'm new to this.

bah i'm so sad=( i could have avoided the crash if i was flying in the other side of the field=( it feels so bad when you crash due to a stupid mistake.

One thing on here I find that we all hurt with ya. You need Sgt Heli's son to put his little hand on yr shouler and say "It's Ok" We Can Rebuild It.....! And yes, it hurts a lot more when we caused-it ! Busted mine up before I ever had a chance to spool it up, 3 weeks ago.

Talking about crashing vs flying. Sgt Heli Jr. asked me this morning about what we are gonna do after I get off of work. He asked if we were gonna work on the helicopter or can we fly it today?
He's figured out real quick around here its alot of work for a little flying.

As for the sun, I haven't had that problem but then again every 3rd or 4th flight I manage to tear it up somehow. The sun is probably in my future.

oh i guess it was my fault, when i came to the field i thought: "oh it's a nice day, sun and hot, i should go to the other side to avoid sun, and i thought in that moment: "nah i will have to walk more 5 minutes, i will just keep here". i never thought that a 1/2 second out of sight could cause this tragic lose of control. well i will order the parts from helidirect, but first let me ask you your opinion. should i upgrade the head to the cnc metal? also the cnc rotor head i have to use the special spindle for it or can i use the other feathering shaft as well? i will wait for your opinions on what to do with this rotor head. i heard that metal head won't break in these crashes.

should i buy a a honey bee king 2 to have 2 helicopter running? really need your opinion=)
