And I do not believe that the $3,000,000 includes parts and labor for asssembly. That means they need to sell a lot of $2200-2300 radios to make a profit. Now, I am sure that they are well into the black by now, but I do not think that it is as cut and dry as some may think.

They most likely aren't that narrow sighted. Just like selling helis at hardly any profit to cash in on the parts sales Futaba sells it's transmitters at a price and feature level that probably generates some profit but makes a killing on peripheral equipment like receivers and servos.

Do you realize that despite all of the dollars spent by Futaba, that RC is only about 10-15% of their business?

The attachment of the antenna on that 10C is looking very strange.

I agree. Wonder if it's another preliminary photo.

I'd be surprised if it was even that much. The RC industry isn't exactly big business.

Looks like another radio with the 2.4 module.
Maybe Frank will have one at E-fest this weekend.

12X does not come with a case
Another $65 bucks.

Seems like the Futaba 10C is another module plug in, not integrated into the TX...I'll pass simply for that. Ug---ga---ly.

For $600, based on the look of that 10C, that looks to be a decent setup. The off angle antenna is simply the antenna folded halfway back of the TM-14 Module.

BTW...who cares if the module is integrated? Does that make it work worse? Personally, I like the idea of being able to switch back to 72mhz to use some of my old receivers if I need to. I don't consider that a bad thing. My 14MZ with the TM-14 module doesn't work any worse than a fully integrated system....YMMV.

This TX looks to have the same programming style of the 12Z, based on the similar button/dial layout, but at half the price, and they have retained the LiIon battery versus the 12FG....which is nice.

I like it.

Why? (I'm just wondering, I don't really care which way it comes, its not a detractor or selling feature either way for me)

Well, in my case, I don't plan on ever switching back to 72Mhz. That may not be practical for everyone, I understand.

The main point of SS RF is really safety- the fact that I no longer have to worry about other users switching their TX on or other reasonable sources of outside interference.
