I have been considering my choices for a new motor for the belt-cp. I'm wondering if anyone out there can reccomend a good setup(not esky). I'm curious as to what you guys are running. I would really like to put a scorpion in it, but it has a 1/8" shaft. Can anyone reccomend a good motor with a 2.3mm shaft? Or better yet does anyone know if there is a 1/8" bore pinion that suitable for use with the belt? This would open up alot more motor choices. One more question. What is the gear pitch on the belt-cp?

Blusaber is running a Hyperion motor on his King and it has fantastic power. Tutelar-RC has a video of his Belt-CP floating around here somewhere and it looked VERY powerful to me You could probably throw on an Align 430XL motor as well.

gear pitch is .5 on the king Im not sure about the belt. I only asssume its the same. So I haven't done enough homework to see what there is for pinion gear size vs pitch and bore.

I hope its the same as the king. I took the motor off my belt-cp, and stuck it in the king. All I did was push the pinion on a bit more to line up with the gear. I have flown the king once with the belt motor so far, and it was fine.

Your belt looks great. I see you have all purple stuff. Did you buy the carbon edition waylander, or did you put that all on yourself?
Does that motor have a 2.3mm or 3.17mm shaft? If it does have the 3.17mm what are you using for a pinion? I'm also wondering is a 48p gear close enough to .5 to work? I looked at a pitch chart, and it looks like 48p is the closest thing to the metric .5p

I bought the carbon kit edition then added every cnc part I could find.

It's the 3.17mm shaft and I'm using the align 11t pinion with no problems.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=MIG5nV2E9K4 Griffin, I'm not sure why you want to dismiss the Esky motor completely ?? You can't go wrong for the price-- about 28 bucks , Do you need MORE power than this ??

Nope the esky had plenty of power I'm just looking for something with alittle more quality then the esky stuff. Not to mention some of the better motors come with a 2-3yr warranty. Just alittle peace of mind if it goes up in smoke.

I have this on my HBK2
you just need to watch the clearance between the motor base and the frame if you use a 9T pinion, I use a 10T so not a problem.
