Manufacturers Take Note!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not sure if most manufacturers of after market heli products are aware of this or not?

Align will be releasing a new helicopter this spring/early summer

That means in about 3 to 4 months.

It will be a 90 size nitro and will be called the T700N.

Can you PLEASE try and have a few servos, main blades, tail blades, exhaust pipes etc. manufactured and ready for sale by then?????????????

An example would be the engine! No YS anywhere and how long will it take to deplete the OS inventory? There is a rumor about a new 100 coming out but we all know how hard that engine will be to get if it comes out in time at all! There seems to be enough blades right now but how long will they last once the 700N hits the market?

Seems everytime Align releases a new heli, lots of peeps have issues trying to hunt down the necessities they need to get it in the air?

3 to 4 months should be enough lead time?

Please note the subtle humor in this post but if history repeats itself, we will again have issues finding these items

YS motors are in HUGE demand and very small supply. Pretty much the same with everything in the heli work right now. The manufactures have not caught up to the explosion of new people and demand for product.

So just how many people do you think are willing to pay:

$900-$1000 for the kit
$350 for the engine
$125-$200 for the pipe
$400 for the servos
$300+ for the gyro
$120 for the blades

Now figure 6-7 flights per gallon of fuel. Anyone who thinks an Align 700 is going to revolutionize the world or sell like a 50 size heli is kidding themselves. It's just not going to happen. Align themselves have said they want this to be their flagship so expect it to be at least in the Raptor 90SE range which is $900. Align has also said the 90 size is more or less a niche market and will never sell at the same levels as the 450, 500, or 600's. That means higher pricing due to lower volume. That puts them right there with TT, the Aurora (if it ever ships), Synergy, etc... And judging by the early pics there is nothing special or revolutionary about the 700n.

a 700N set up is the same as a 600N just bigger engine and stronger cyclic servos ,, and if the T700N isnt the machine to buy we have the set up for a Aurora if it ever ships

Gscott you make a valid point but I personally belive everyone who bought a 600n (many of them it's their first nitro and/or their first 50 size) and are happy with them will buy (if economically possible) the 700n. This will be a first 90 for many, many people. I also feel it could change our hobby as we know it. Align has already proven that they can get decent helis to the masses and pump out parts etc... Now, many of us who have 90's already will wait and make sure the kinks are worked out of the 700n. But in short time I predict you will see 90 sized trexs lined up and down the flight lines, just like the 600n's and the 450's. (as long as Alan and the gang are flying them).

I was Spektrum when Spektrum wasn't cool

Perhaps but I think a 90 brings it to an entirely new level. The fuel consumption is much larger than a 50 and you need more space. The kit is most likely going to be $400 more than what you can get a 600n Pro for now and the engine/blades are roughly 50% more. The way I see it you already have some great 90's out there now that are pretty reasonable as far as parts prices. The Raptor is not bad and aside from crown and tail gears the Synergy is reasonable as well. Neither sell anywhere close to the level of the 50 size helis. I think alot will talk about getting one but in the end will pass once they sit down and do the math. I just don't see the parts being at the same level as the 600 and unless they seriously step up the quality and QC they will not be able to compete with Synergy, JR, etc...

I have a spare Ys .91 just sitting around.
I have a spare Muscle pipe...Just sitting around.
I have spare 8717's...just sitting around.

Plus I have a Vibe set up right now.

I have the equipment (might want to buy some Radix blades).

But, I was the first in my area to have the 600N...And I WILL NOT be the first to get the 700. I didn't have many issues, but I had a few. My big issue is Align never *admitted* they had a bad design with the one way. I called to talk to them about it, Kyna said they would send me a new one...Then when I called the guy that was supposed to ship it to me said no, that I must have built the machine wrong!!!!

I contacted Kyna again and she said it must have been a mistake....Again they guy said no, that I must have built it wrong!!!

So this release I am going to sit back and wait...Maybe buy an N9 to put all that stuff in.

I will wait until everyone buys two or more and realize that they dont need one of them. Maybe by then I will be bored with my 600N. I saw that when people went crazy about the Rex 500. They started showing up left and right.

I am still having to much fun with my 600N...
