I have been using the 14Mz for sometime now and seem to be pretty efficient on it now. However I have aquestion... on one of my helicopters I have retracts (through a Vario control unit)in channel 10 on the receiver. When I switch the heli on (after the radio obviously) the retracts start to retract and then go back into position. I guess I must have a curve somewhere thats doing this but can't find it. Any suggestions?

I have seen the servos move on power up so maybe the Vario control unit is picking this up as a command. Maybe you can reverse the polarity of the channel or set some delay to prevent the false signal!

Could I ask why you are using the Vario unit? I have retracts on my Puma, two seperate servo (one for the rear wheels and one for the front wheel). You are able to use any channels and any switch you like with the 14MZ, (I am using 9 and 10) and you can set the speed from rapid to more than tens seconds to transition. I have the front whell slightly quicker than the rears as it travels further.
My only other suggestion is that your failsafe is set on channel ten to make the retracts go up and the time it takes from power up to the receiver until a correct signal is received may mean the receiver goes to its failsafe position momentarily. When the signal is correct that's when your wheels go down again. It may just need the failsafe on channel ten set to 'down'.
Hope that helps

Thanks for that Dennis, its the EC155 and the control unit that comes with the retracts. I do allow the 14Mz to fully boot up before switching the heli on, but will check the failsafe settings. Have you moved to 2.4 FASST yet? fitted mine this week and just need some decent weather to try it!!

The Hughes 500 is all good and well now, the GV1 has made all the difference to it. Also added a turbine Lama to the fleet instead of my Cobra; hope to have it ready next month for maiden flights.

Not gone to 2.4 on the 14MZ yet, although I have on the JR9XII. I haven't had any glitches on the Puma and the only advantage I can see at the moment is getting rid of the unsightly aerial wire. The Puma is having and engine upgrade and colour change at the moment so by the time that's done I may have converted. Will be nice to see your new addition at the shows this season. Aren't governors wonderful
See you soon
