Hello
I just purchased an AP2000i from Eric. I was wondering if anyone has done this on the Airfoil Heli system. I have been reading AP2000i threads. I see there is a few mixed reviews about the Calibration. Thanks in advance for your advice.

I know with the enclosed mechanics that mounting the sensor was a challenge but several have done it to my knowledge. I don't recall specifically how they mounted it.

The only issue I know of concerning the calibration is with radios with limited programming, i.e. DX7. To date, someone has found a way with virtually every radio. I keep a list of many of the options that the pilots have sent me. If you need help, we can email you programming suggestion specific to your radio type.

Hello Mark
I was on your site and have heard a lot of good this about you and your business. I was on your site to buy the Spartan AP2000i but you were currently out of stock. I posted a thread about purchasing a AP2000i and bought it from Eric. I have a JR 9303 radio. I bought a heli set up from Airfoil. I thought the Ap2000i would be a nice thing to have for AP video and stills. I have done some shoots now and like the idea of having a stabilizer on my heli. I look forward to any helpful information you have about setting it up properly. It will be a week or so until I get the system. Thanks again.

No sweat, Jason. I won't cry. I'm always more than happy to help.

I don't have my 9303 with me but I'll get you my setup before your stuff arrives.

Got my 9303 now. Here's what I've got. Keep in mind that I moved my gyro over to the AP2000i so I don't use the Gear channel for gyro gain.

In the system menu under DeviceSEL:

Gear set to Elev D/R, ACT
Pit.TRIM set to INH
AUX2 set to PitT LEV, ACT

In the Func. List:

Program mix 1

Set mix GEAR->AUX2
SW Select: all set to off
EXP OFF
Now, on the point mix you will need to have your AP2000i active with your slider in the position that shows OFF on the AP2000i. In my case, I've set Point-0 to +8 to get the AP2000i into calibration. You may have to adjust this value on your setup. When you hit the Ele D/R switch, the AP2000i screen should read CAL then DONE. If your channel is reversed as compared to mine, you'll need to adjust Point-6.

Give it a shot and if you have any questions give me a call.

Thanks. I will look over my manual and make sure I am setting the radio properly and I will give it a try. I will keep in touch.
