best ESC for 380 brushed motor
Hi everyone,

I busted my Axe-cp ESC. Since I will be putting an GY240 I don't need the gyro function that comes bundled with Heli-Max's original ESC.

Can you please recommend a good ESC for 380 brushed motors?

Thanks,
Gaston

axe cp esc
I use a 240 gyro, spektrum 6100 rx, spektrum dx7 tx on my axe cp. The esc for the main motor is the electrifly C-25 brushed, and for the tail motor the C-12 brushed from tower hobbies. The batterys (3) are electrifly BP1250 mah. This set up turns a 200.00 heli into a 500.00 heli. It hovers and does general flying very well. I'm considering a brushless setup because the heli seems slugish when full (11 degree) pitch is applied. I guess the added weight takes away from the performance of the stock brushed motor. If I get in a tight situation and need a lot of collective and pitch to bail out, it really seems to drain the performance of the stock motor. For
me if I were starting all over instead of buying the esc for brushed
I would convert to brushless for the main motor. Hope this helps.

I ordered a C-12 and C-25 this morning from Tower so it looks like we'll have similar set-up
how much heavier is the 1250mAh than the 910mAh LiPo?

I was flying with the original TX but as soon as I get the new ESCs I'll program my futaba 8UH. I haven't done it yet since I need to figure out how to program CCPM.

I don't want to put more upgrades into this heli. I will use it to practice backyard flying (can't do that with my Nexus...) and will later get a Trex 450SE when I can afford it for more serious electric flight.

thanks a lot Just Lucky for your response!!

axe cp esc
I don't know the weight difference but the 1250 weighs 112.3 grams
give or take a 10th of a gram. I have a 450 and 600 but for some reason I always grab the axe for learning new moves. Cheaper to repair. Only problem with that is I have to retune my thumbs when changing helis. Inverted is next but I'm concerned about power. Oh by the way, Easton Eagle 2018 arrows work great for the tail boom. One arrow makes 2 booms. RC universe has a axe cp form. Could be of some help to you. Good luck on the conversion.
