My guess would be no more than 3.. But I would check it after every flight to make sure...

Hell... I can fix that.

On a plank with five Futaba digitals, which draw less current, i used approx 320mah per fight. To be safe I would say absolutely no more then 3 especially if you are throwing it around. I would say 2 to be safe. I would suggest just going with a 3300 mah sub c nimh. That would be around 5 flights and is about the same weight.

I wouldn't. Not with those servos. NiMh batts don't have a high enough discharge rating for those servos

Hell... I can fix that.

My LHS has this battery http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...6333&search=Go, so It´s better to stay with a nicd.

Yes.

Unless you want to get a Lipo/Regulator setup.

To me, that is way too small a battery for that size of a machine.

On the big stuff (50 and 90) I am running 4300 mah Duralite batteries and regulators. This adds complexity but, I would rather have the added capacity and the ability for greater current draw.

On two ships that have the 8717 servos, I am running the Duralite "High Current" batteries and regulators.

What you think about this, a UBEC from koolflightsystem ( 5 volts output ) and a 3s 1300 mah battery, I think this setup it is sufficient to fly out of danger.

I would not go below 2700 mils.

I am running the Koolflight BEC's on all of my mini (450 sized) machines and they are great.

I would want at least 7.5 amps available with the servos you are running. I do not think that the Koolflight can deliver that.

NiMH cells are not a problem, as long as you choose the right cells. There are NiMH packs with very high current ratings that are made for flight packs (used before LiPos came on the scene) and these will power your electrics with no problem. Typically these are sub-C cells with a capacity > 3000mAh.

A cheap alternative is to use a NiCD SCR2400 pack, they can be fast charged, os possible a 2100 SCR pack, but this is the smallest pack I would run on a heli of this size.

Your choice of battery will not dictate wether you can fly 3D or not... but that pack looks fine. I have used something almost identical.

Internal resistance of 3300mAh NiMH cells is about 5milliohms and 3mohms with 4200NiMH cells. If you also use high current cabling/connectors, you'll be fine for 3D. 4200 gives about 8 or 9 flights
