Looks really sharp! I'll be joining you with a carbon kit, orange canopy machine with a TT53...what do you think of the engine, heli, and servos so far? I'm trying to decide on either a regulated 6v or go with 8v? Whats your weight?

This is my second X-50 so that is a no brainer. I have three breaking-in flights on the heli so there really isn't much I can say about the engine except it seems to be breaking in fine. No problems thus far. I'll have to get back to you on the weight. I will take it to a place that has a electronic scale this weekend.

This might make me look dumb but did you change out the fuel line inside the header and main tank? I'm just asking because it looks like your useing the stock fuel line in those pics.

first snag with TT53
went out to field today to put tanks 4,5 and 6 thru engine. On tank 5 I started to lean from 3&3/4 turns to 3&1/4 after a bit of foward flight and a couple of climb outs I did a auto on down. Engine hung up on high throttle for a while before coming down. I checked to see what was wrong and it turned out to be the servo getting stuck, however upon further inspection I found it to be the barrel of the carburator got stiff. Carb was not hot and engine was definetly on the rich side. I could turn it by hand but it what very stiff. I am using a mini servo hitec hs65hb runs 30 oz at .11 sec on 6 vlts. I belive that even a full size servo would of had a hard time with it.
Anyways I know this should be posted under another forum, But I have some who asked or pmd me asking for updates on the TT53. I have read all the postings on the engine forum related to the TT53 and no one mentions this issue. Either I got a bad engine or no one is running a mini servo. I should state that the engine is running very nicely. We shall see what tommorow brings. As far as the X-50 is concerned well it is being held up by the engine cause it is ready to go.

My new TT53 has a pretty stiff carb too, and I had a similar thing on an OS91 a couple years ago, closing the carb and putting a couple drops of oil on the barrel and moving it a few times cleared it right up on both engines.

I ran into this with a YS 50, like Eury posted, unhook the servo and oil up the barrel a bit and use your hand to free it up. Mine had some grease on it from factory and the oil and movement freed it up nicely. Hopefully thats all yours is doing.

Red Line 53
I will be testing one of these TT Red Line 53's in one of our Xtremes very soon as well. Looks promising. acri84 was you able to lube the carb to fix the stickiness?

I tell you what, I put a standard size servo 110 oz at .08 @ 6v and the carb issue still exist. I have noticed that the sticking problem only happens right after shut down and it seems like the heat transfers to the barrel and it dissorts the barrel. once the engine cools off it is fine again. Another thing is I was using the MP2 and it was not quite right. But I borrowed a Align pipe and this thing came to life. I have ran about 3 gallons of fuel so far and it seems like it is going to be a good engine. I will see about ordering a RJX pipe here in the near future. To sum it all up, I would only recommend this engine to someone who is very patient. I myself gave up on it and let one of the guys that flies with me set it, and it took him a while. And I'm talking days of trial and error. Truth be told maybe if I would of started with the Align pipe it would of been easier to find the happy medium.

Dave,

When mine arrives (today according to UPS ), I am going to try out the RJX muffler that comes in the kit. If it performs as well as they say, then I may be putting my Hatori SAB-50 up for sale.

Yea,I agree Gary,I just need to get a bit more out of my motor. It really does ok on the MP5 50,but the head speed needs to be up there to optimize power.I may just be pushing it to hard,I dont know!
