if you import a radio CE marked or not you become responsible for its compliance as you become the importer
and i would look into Futaba i think you will find there having a few problem's
The CE mark on the 9303 and the CE mark on UK version of the DX7 are identical, the only difference is one says made in Japan and the other Malaysia, therefore both radios are as legal as each other regardless of wether you import them or not.

If someone did have an serous accident using an imported 9303 or any legitimate UK radio and there was a significant claim then then the BMFA and their insurance company would find some technicality to avoid paying out regardless of where the transmitter came from,

As an end user, if I choose to import a radio into the UK to use myself I would make sure it was legal and therefore check for neccercary documentation.

So if the unit has a CE mark backed up by with a statement in the manual that states it can be used in the UK then as a consumer I have done everything asked of me to make certain I am legal.

With all that is going on at the moment, 2.4Gig wise, the technology is in the forefront of everyones mind, every model crash and "glitch" on these glitch free systems are being blamed on the radio again. Funny how a pilot can never take responsibility for his actions when it goes wrong. With that being said, like i stated earlier, anyone who buys from outside the UK is leaving themselves wide open for legal action should the worst happen. The BMFA will be very hot on this subject this coming season, buyer beware, be prepared to be refused entry to comps and flyins........

And standing by watching futaba release 'yet' another TX to the market with what appears to be a 'solid' foundation.
Go with Spektrum/JR, I think Futaba is just working OT, to try and catch up.

I can't keep up here, so anyone in the UK who bought a 9303 needs to refer to a bulletin about the DX7 on the Horizon site, needs to get an updated manual cos theirs is wrong and also to ignore the CE mark on the radio - what a mess.

Well if im at the field or at a show, and someone else's aircraft hits me, using an imported DSX9 OR 9303 and im left with a serious injury.

Where does he stand with regards to BMFA.!!!!!
Where do i stand.!!!!!

Regardless of it being an imported set, if it's CE market then it's legally cleared for use in Europe, or is it. ?

You would stand with a very long lawsuit to recover any damages.......with little help from the BMFA i would guess.

There will always be greedy morons, in any country, who will sue when they see big $$$ but an individual is more likely to get eatin by a shark in the desert than to get sued.
