Field Equipment
Well..i'm going to be owning a Raptor 50 Titan V2 soon (giving my electrics a break). Being my first nitro bird I was wondering what kind of field equipment I would really need?

Also..what does a Glow Driver do exactly?

thanks, J

Equipment.....
Well, let's start with your question about the glow driver....
It is a battery or lead from your flight box battery that heats the glow plug needed to start you engine.... once running you remove the driver.

Fuel
Fuel Pump and fuel line
Glow Driver (charger needed to keep it up at home)
Glow Plug Wrench
Glow plugs
Electric Starter with starting wand (has one way bearing built in)
12 volt battery or you can make up your starter to run from nicad/nmhd packs attached to it...
Misc tools, screw drivers, allen wrenches, pliers
Box to carry all of this "stuff"

I probably missed something and there are different ways of doing some of the things listed, but at least you will have an idea...
Hope it helps you out.....Stan

Every little bit helps as I really don't know much about the "process" of properlly (safely) starting up a nitro heli.

Option 1) Carry Master’s - Organization Plus $129.99

Option 2) Nitro affordable starting pack $122.94

Which One....
I actually won one of the carry master set ups a couple of years back and for someone just getting started it is a pretty handy set up..and will get you going very easily.... and then as you progress you can also "grow" you flight box.... using this and a small tool box would set you right up... I had forgotten that mine is sitting under a table in the shop!!!!

Also, I hope you are going to get some help for an experienced IC pilot... if for no other reason to teach you how to start and set the nitro burner.... I am not sure who is in your area, but I know that the Seaview guys would be happy to help you get going if you contact them.... they are in Brooklyn area....

Good Luck, Stan

I'm going to see what type of info my LHS has to offer, maybe point me in the right direction of some local fliers.

...you wouldn't happen to wanna sell that newly found kit from under your work bench now would you??
