I am just putting the finishing touches on a Trex 500. The canopy fits a bit snug in the area around the main gear. In fact on one side it touches. Do I just trim away the guilty area or is there another way to solve this issue.

TIA
Jim

Can't you put a couple of washers on the canopy stand offs?

I was Spektrum when Spektrum wasn't cool

Everything fits fine except around the main gear. I'll try sanding that area on the inside, if not I will cut it away. The washers sound good except it is right at the bottom edge a bit farther back.

Just like Willie said if the canopy is close to or hitting the maingear sand the bottom of the canopy where the clasp catches the canopy. My canopy was rubbing one side of the maingear badly and after sanding away about 3mm of material from the area noted above I now clear the main gear by a good margin. The issue of rubbing the maingear is due to the canopy deforming from having to be stretched to get the rear mounts on.

Hey thanks for the great tips. I will relieve a mm or two and retry. Other than that it's been a fun build for a rookie.
