Greetings,

I am in the process of finishing my TREX 450 MD 500e Green scale build and I am using DX6i transmitter to control the bird. Most light kits state that you should plug the lights into an unused channel. Well, I have no channels available and want to know if I could piggy back off the main power?

Thanks in advance

I have GOOLGED and also searched the forums for a descent set of lights with no luck. Where can I get a set of lights --> Green, Red, White Strobe for fair price?

Maxx lites
My Futaba 6ex comes with a 6 channel receiver and a battery connection that goes unused on the trex. I plugged my maxx lite setup in there. Theres nothing better for flying in the day time far away for orientation. I know I'm nose in when I see the two position lights. I also have a landing hover light and a tail strobe. They hardly use any battery power either.

You need a harness to hook them all together but I just cut the wires and sodered them together.

Dont know about maxx lites though, since they changed their website. I've seen the new one but I cant remember where it was.

Here is what I did:

I use small (pre-drilled hole type) Printed Circuit Board. Then use bridge resistor (100Ohms). The o/p of bridge resistors goes to an individual connectors. Each of these connectors is for each individual LEDs.

The i/p of the bridge resistor is connected in parallel to a series of pins/connectors (male type). At the end of it, it is connected to a normal servo type of wire+connector. By doing so, it is also a Y cable/connector build into it.

By connecting the normal servo wire to any channel (No need to be free. It can be Channel 3 or 5). Lets say I connected to channel 3 (Throttle). Then the ESC is connected to that PCB build in Y cable/connector instead.

I can thoroughly recommend Thanh Trans' products, and have two sets of his LED Nav lights/strobe lights/low voltage alarms. They work like a charm, and he will build what you want if his stock range isn't exactly what you are after.

His website is as above:-
