Super quiet self made Direct Drive System in Shenzhen China. These photos were taken while they are been tested for range, power, etc. I could only hear sound of air flows while they were doing 3D. It is litterally more quiet than a HKB2. I think it would be more consumption efficient due to less friction between the gears and energy lost to sounds and vibrations. Powerwise, it was doing 3D alright but the makers still weren't happy with it. I think these guys are going to mass produce them at a later stage.

Pics work for me. That's VERY cool, but I'd think that the weight would go up, and the large motor spinning would create a pretty strong gyroscopic force, which would effect how the heli flies. Probably make it more stable, which would be good for a lot of people.

That is very cool. Its an obvious evolutionary step for the 450.

I am surprised it is not standard.

Possibly, it would depend on what was spinning. And you may not even notice it if the right part of the motor was spinning. The rotor disk would likely dominate the gyroscopic tendencies anyways I think. Remember, a normal motor would be turning 30000 rpm while this motor would likely be turning 2500 to 3000 rpm directly with the disc.

would be interesting to see the calcs for that.

Stupidity can be cured. Ignorance is for life!
