stet,

ASU is a great school, i love their campus i visited it several times! lots of pretty girls!!

umdpru,

you have some pretty messed up logic man. I love how you keep saying that we dont know you. I dont know what "knowing" you has to do with anything, we can read what you write and we base our opionon of your intellect on the things you say.

You have so far said,
I'd like you to expand a bit on how exactly gold and platinum are essential for technology?
After we have shown you how essential they are to technology and that they are in the majority of tech based products you want to get into an argument over what essential means???
Economics don't come into play when you are DEPENDENT on something
I am still waiting on the rational for how there are no economic forces on products we are dependent on!!

You have again and again said that companies like exxon and others making 11% is to much profit while you think its ok for others to make 30%.

We have shown you again and again that not only is 3 dollars a gallon cheaper then most any other country, it is also not to far out of line with prices the last 30 years, nor is it higher as compared to percentage of income spent on fuel vs 30 years ago.

You are a typical libtard, you think that big brother should punish successful people and redistribute that to unsuccessful ones like yourself. You believe that the government should control prices on products like fuel because you dont like paying 3 dollars a gallon and you think that if big brother would just fix the price at 1.50 then your life would be so much better.

Heres an idea, instead of looking for someone else to improve your situation why dont you try improving it yourself? Instead of your "Robin Hood" mentality of wealth redistribution try controlling your jelousy of those that have made something out of themselves.

As i have said before, capitalism works, it isnt perfect but it does work and the best thing that the government can do is let it work with minimal interference. If you hate america so much go try living in another country for a while and see how that is.. I lived inthe UK for several years and paid well over 7 bucks a gallon for gas. Ive also lived in Africa, and visited dozens of other countries and i have seen first hand how countries that are controlled by the government work.

So to summarize, yes i do know you, because i know the way people like you think as evident by your continued moronic comments on this and other threads like it...

The fact that your Fuhrer is a Saudi asslicker might have something to do with that too...

I'm sorry, I guess instead of politely providing data and facts with references...I could have just thrown an insult and a "Daily Show" link and claimed victory.

Now that this has degraded down to grade school arguments from both sides...I'll now be ignoring the BS. Shame since it *could* have been a good debate.

Wake...did you have to use personal attacks? Why not just use facts to counter them?

You just can't wrap your feeble little mind around the fact that any material can be replaced by another. It is all a matter of how much or what you are willing to sacrifice. Understand that fact first before using personal insults here about my education which no doubt includes much much more time based in science and engineering than you'll likely ever get.
Economics don't come into play when you are DEPENDENT on something
Pull your head out of your ass and open your eyes. I NEVER SAID THAT!!

Never said this either! Refer to the directions above re: your ass, head and eyes.

For you to base your opinion of me solely on my posts here is fine by me. I sure hope you are not as narrow minded when meeting a person in real life. I think you are probably a pretty arrogant narrow minded peon who thinks he's pretty important.
Hey Ump, are you rattling the cage of the moron brigade again?

"any material can be replaced by another"

So now you are an alchemist? What material replaces gold and platinum for corrosion, catalytic and conductive properties? These things are just so easy to do, and when they don't happen, it is obviously some conspiracy where the established order is protecting it's angle on things.

So you think millions are spent in precious metals for manufacturing purposes, and the manufacturers are not choosing cheaper and better alternatives that meet the performance requirements? You think if presented with a better way they would not choose it? Better ways are presented and chosen constantly. If it is better and cheaper, I buy it and put it in my spec. So does the rest of the FREE MARKET.

If it is so easy, with all your extensive education, you should have a solution at hand. But of course you don't.

You know, with these statements that you (2) guys have science backgrounds, your positions clearly suggest otherwise.

What industry do you work in exactly?

I'd love to see how well these brilliant ideas and acumen fly in a professional environment. My experience is that when attitudes like yours are displayed, firing is immediate.

Ronhill,

not sure if you have read the past 6 pages but i did nothing but post the facts up until the last few.

The problem with libtards is that you post facts and they dont even attempt to refute them, they just pretend you said nothing!!

If you insult them they at least fight back and make for an interesting discussion.

But i have to leave town for a day or 2 for work so im gonna have to call it a day onthis one.

Waste of time trying to teach liberals basic economic facts, i enjoy a good debate but in the end it always goes to name calling as the liberals can never refute your facts so it has to progress that way...

open your eyes or get glasses or get someone else to read back what I wrote regarding that. It all depends on what you are willing to sacrifice.

Know everything attitudes like yours are why projects go over budget, over schedule and fail. You types always think your way is best and more often than not it isn't!

Engineers who don't think outside the box are doomed. You better wise up and start using your mighty ASU education!

There was a story on our local news radio station KYW1060 yesterday morning saying that it's possible gas prices may drop as much as 50c a gallon this year due to people not consuming as much.

More likely because it is an election year. Gas prices always fall during an election year then they ratchet right back up. In the fall of 2006 here in Mass when the election was on for governor, the prices had fallen to $1.99 per gallon by october. After the elections they rocketed back up to 2.75 a gallon within a month.
