Would it help the problem if one were to dangle a carrot on a stick in front of the airplane?

Come on! let's have it right!

suck,SQUASH, bang, blow ....and that's 100ll.
spin 'n woosh is jet A

!st. place....you are tying yourself in semantic knots!

the OBJECT of the conundrum is to confuse you...discard all the extraneous sidetracks and what do you have?

Totally irrespective of any headwind, the aircraft "sees" a tailwind which equals it's forward speed....as this is a"wind-tunnel" there is no headwind, even before the plane moves forward....I fail to see where "airspeed comes into your equasion, because there clearly isn't any!

both aircraft and "wind"are moving at the same speed and in the same direction.

that much is implicit and irrefutable in the original wording.

Bago, Every time I read one of your posts, I picture Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers movies explaining and making quotation marks with his fingers... You're funny

haven't watched the film, so I can't comment, however it's good to see that your sense of humour has not departed to the same place as your analytical skills
