Set the main needle firstFly around and when overhead, hit hold. If the engine drops to a idle INSTANTLY you are ok, any hanging up and you are LEAN!!! If you are not comfortable with autos, have someone else do this for you. It is the most reliable way of checking the top end I know. For the bottom, run it slightly rich- listen for a good smooth hover. If both needles are out you will never get to the sweet spot- go to factory settings and go from there (here the bottom must be set after the top is backed off- then set the top close).
