Do you fly Thumb or Finger/Thumb?
I'm interested in opinions and experiences. How's finger/thumb for 3D? How's thumb for accuracy? How do you guys fly and have you tried both?
Thanks for the input!

Thumbs all the way! I've tried "pinch" but feels too bound up. I believe the majority flies pinch, but it's just a personal preference.

Used to fly thumbs when I first started but now I use both thumbs and pinch depending on my flying. Majority of the time I pinch on collective and thumb on cyclics. Just a matter of personal preferrence.Les

Doesn't matter, I do very well at crashing either way, but have crashed a lot more trying to change over and learn the pinch method. After all, it has to be twice as hard, not only do you have a dumb thumb to train, now you have a dumb finger to train also.

I've tried the pinch method but it's not confortable
to me, I wish the first time I picked up a TX someone
told me to use this method! I'm a thumbs flier cause
it's what I learned on my own...

I spent several sessions on the sim trying to fly pinch method, after watching Nick Maxwell fly in person and generally reading that it seems like the more precise method.

I have short fingers, and try as I might, it never felt comfortable at all. I got better at it, but thumbs still felt much more natural (of course I learned planes and then helis this way on my own). Fying pinch for a while on the sim and my hand starts to cramp up. I got frustrated and I guess I've just accepted that I'll always be a thumb flier, second class.

Curtis Youngblood's site someone asked him this question- he suggested doing what you like best, and pointed out that if you have short fingers, the pinch method might make it difficult for you to get full stick movement. Now I feel justified.
Never, ever, ever, ever give up.

thanks again for all the input! Thanks to Dood for the links as well. For the thumb flyers, there is a new gimbal from speed-labs.com that may give thumbs a better grip on the gimbals! Saw it in rcheli mag. Not trying to promote anyone, only to note reference.
