Hatori have supposedly designed a pipe for the TT53 but I'm not sure of the number, mine is running real good now on my MP5.

Carbsmart??? lol, I thought you could tune an engine...

I am at 2 1/4 turns out now and feel I am real close. Tomorrow should be the day to get good readings. We will be having mid 70s with a light breeze..

I know I'm still rich, I know it close too. Its more of a 600N thing (fan is amazing at cooling the engine compared to others) than an engine thing. Now with the hypers they had been flown in other craft and were always within a click or two. Actually the needles have been very predictable on the TT motor, but Im apprehensive about leaning it out much more without a way to verify temp inflight and under load. I wanted to try the carbsmart and figured this would be an excellent excuse.

Plus I want to see if the hype about better fuel economy and more consistant power throughout the flight is true.
Hatori have supposedly designed a pipe for the TT53
This is supposedly the 523.

I have 2 gallons through mine now. I am stopped at 2 1/4 turns out as if I go anymore it isnt happy. Powerhouse of an engine. The flip side is, I am down to a 7min flight. The last 1/4 tank even with a fuel magnet, I can tell I am running on the verge of running lean.

With the word being the MP5 makes more pressure, that could explain our differences in needle settings. Oh, like I said in the other thread, I ended up at 2 turns out and stock on idle.

I agree, the Align pipe is not the ideal pipe for this engine. Looks like a trip to the LHS for a new Mp5.

You might want to try the new RJX pipe. People on the RJX Extreme 50 thread have had great results with TT53, Hyper, and YS. It's very well made, less noise than Align, with equal power. $74.95 I'll be trying mine soon!

The MP5 on the Redline is really nice and quiet. Pulls hard all the way up to 2100 on the head with 12deg pitch. I finally got it tuned how I like it. @ turns and 3 click on the high and just a little rich of stock on the low end. I am very happy with the engine.

fwiw..

First few flights on the Redline on a friends' 600...Engine extremely powerful, seems very happy with Align pipe..Hover is smoothest I've seen in a while...Idle needle is sensitive, like the other TT engines I've used, but has consistent fuel draw down to the bottom of the tank.

is this still the case or the OutRage pipe working better?

It was in the air, but now it's on the ground. :)
