tuning
This weekend I had a chance to help tune a friends TT 53, his tuning was a little different than mine, I had to open the low end about 1(rich) full turn more than the stock setting, reason for this was in a hover the motor would show signs of lean in normal (1900). Not sure if every one is aware that the low-end needle crosses over for the mid range to. I have the high end set at 2.0 hope this helps every one

Final head speed about 2300 to 2400

I put 6 flights on my Redline .53 over the weekend and so far it is making the same if not more power than my Hiper did in my Raptor Titan. I am using the MP5 and Rev Max gov. One thing I did notice was if I lean the high end up to much the engine rpm will over rev if I unload the engine to fast. The engine shows no sign of running lean until I unload it fast. I just opened the high end a few clicks and all was fine.

Happy with the engine for now, see how it holds up over time.

Flew mine this weekend for the first time and halfway through the tank the engine started leaning out with no changes by me. After the first tank there was oil leaking out between the head and the top of the crankcase. I Pulled the engine out and 2 head bolts were tight, 2 snug, 1 finger tight, and 1 loose. NOT Good. I tighened them all up and all is good again, runs consistant now. It was a bit lean on the low end. The low end affects the Mid range from about 35-55% Thats what I noticed. When I got above 55% on the thro. basically out of the mid range the engine went very rich. Happy so, just a word to the wise. [U][B]Check your head bolts before flying and running.

This is a clip taken with the engine still rich, actually about a half turn from where I finally ended up. Like I said though, even rich, it pulls, pulls, and pulls some more.
