I was reading in my OS 50 manual about after every run you should drain the fuel run the moter until it quits take the glow plug out run the starter to drain engine then put oil in and run starter again to get oil all over the inside of the engine to prevent corrosion. Is this somthing you all do? The longest the heli sits is maybe a week, usaly 24-48 hours between runs. this seem like over kill to me. What do you guys do?

pick it up and shake it off...she'll fly again

Most fliers don't bother with mixed results, some experience early bearing wear some don't, in extreme cases bearing failure. Its a case of do what feels right for you, i never use after run oil and my engine sits around for periods like yours. If you trawl the site on OS50 bearing failure you will see the pros and cons.

Run dry at the end of a session, then turn over with the starter to purge what fuel is left.
When engine parts go bad, ie bearings, simply replace them because they need replacing fairly frequently anyway.

Yes, a good idea to run the engine out. That leaves just oil in the crankcase (if the fuel had no water in it).

That's the other good idea - buy quality fuel, and keep it sealed. Water loves alcohol and will ruin an engine very quickly (rust).

If you will not be flying for a few months, then take out the 'plug, drain the crankcase, put in a lot of ATF or equivalent, wrap it all up in a rag, and put it in a plastic bag for storage.

This is what I do, and my engines live to the max.
