Hey vic, if them cyclic servos are good for the job then it makes the trex a far more (well a bit more) affordable option instead of 9650's. I don't like them BIG 'N' FAT servo arms though.

Yea, those big fatty servo arms do look kinda funny. I actually like them. They performed really well thus far in flight. Next time out I'll do some flips and stuff to see how they feel.

Here's video of the flight:

You lucky Dog I thought the kit came with main blades? just curious as to why you got some more if that is the case? I've not seen that field before either.

I got the kit without blades because I wanted the newer Align Rotortech 430mm blades. I also got a set of RCP 425mm and some el cheapo 335mm HDX Fiber Glass for backup.

The field you saw is a new one in my area that I found. Its a pretty big field, but does have overgrown weeds. Its my new secret HOT flying spot!!!!

Vic: you say everything you own is "the bomb".

Where is that Gazaur Mars 480 3D heli? The one I said you'd sell in a month.

Sold, isn't it.

I'm super happy you like the Trex 500 but lets be real, it isn't for everyone.

I have NO interest in it AT ALL!

But then again, I'm flying a 90 size heli and my next heli is a Trex 600N.

The CopterX 200 is for sale if you know anyone that wants it. Trex 600N takes priority.

Tell us what you don't like about the 500.

I'll bet you sell the 500 in less than 6 months, takers?

YOu do know the TRex 700 is on it's way don't you?

Peace out.

The Mars 480 was nice, but the Trex 500 is waaaaaaaay better. My plan from the very beginning even before I got the Mars 480 was to get a Trex 500.

I really don't see any other heli that has my interest in the near future. I think I'm honestly set for a while. I already got a bunch of new bling on order that hopefully I'll have by this weekend for the Trex 500.

No Trex 700 for me. I don't really like something that big. I'm set with the Knight 50 3D because it just flies toooo good. If you don't believe me, ask Richard who's owned 3 Knights!!

And,,, just like you that just got the CopterX which is really nice BTW, and sold it sooner than I did my Mars 480, they are just toys. They come and they go. Just plain material posessions that cannot be taken with us to our grave!!!!

Me, deciding to sell off "one" of my heli's does not put me in the same category as you.

Here is what you posted about the heli you now love.
I agree with Long on the Trex 500 not looking all that. IMO, the Lepton EX is still way better looking than the Trex 500. Guess Peter got it right the first time for a 500 size.

If I'm ever to get a small 500, its got out beat and out perform the Lepton, which has cheap parts now from the cloned HDX 500 BTW.

Even the RC-Tek 500 looks better right now than this.

Now if it flies better than the T500E is a different story all together.

But by the way it looks, I wouldn't pay more than $250 for that Align 500.
How much did you pay for the 500 vic?

Peace out bro.

Yea, I did say that, but that was when the CAD drawing were out in which they made the Trex 500 look really Ghetto. I still hate those CAD Trex 500 pics.

But now, with the Silver GF Frames, and all the super nice metal bling, it just looks plain killer. I know Jason and Peter really love there's alot as I do too.

I got my kit for $461 shipped for the GF kit without blades. I then went and got the super nice Align Rotortech 430mm Carbon Fiber blades.

Victor,

"I'm set with the Knight 50 3D because it just flies toooo good. If you don't believe me, ask Richard who's owned 3 Knights!! "

Actually, I have only owned two (both of which I still own). And they do fly toooo good!

Very low maintenance too.

Mitch,

You might look into the Knight 3D if you are looking at a .50 sized machine. It is actually quicker than the TREX 600N on cyclic (I have flown two different 600N's now).

It does not have the wear issues that the 600N does.

It also does not require any upgrades, although many people are using a kit to move the rudder servo up front, which I will do eventually. I am still pressing on inverted backwards (and still uncomfortable with it). In seven flights yesterday, it looked like the entire left side of the helicopter, including the tail servo, had been dipped in motor oil.

The Knight 50 Pro is somewhat heavy, slower responding, and very smooth (more Hirobo-like). The 3D is very light, and really, really quick on cyclic. The TREX 600N is between the two, response-wise.

From a quality standpoint, the machining is in between Hirobo and Align (with Hirobo being the best).

Opps, sorry Richard, thought you had all three versions of the Knights!!

I'm so tempted to get the newer painted Knight 50 3D Canopy. Its soo nice, but at $89 bucks, I'm afraid to scratch it!! LOL

I said to myself way back when I first got the Knight that after my first crash on the Knight, I'd get it. Unfortunitely, I've never crashed the Knight!!!!

How mad!!! You do flips, inverted hovering then you crash losing controlled when your upright & turning or was it because your muscle memory was still developing & trying to remember your upright & instead gave input for an inverted heli

Richard: I'm pretty set on a Trex 600, I'll have to do a bit more research. I don't know why I'm leary of the Knight?

The only one I've seen in person wasn't a very good example.

I guess I like to go with mainstream proven designs.

Maybe we can hook up one of these weekends and take a look at what you've got, I know you have a few and the side by side would be great.

I really need to resist buying a Nitro Pro, I'll buy something in the next week or so.

Should of never got sidetracked with the CopterX 200. Ugh!

You need to buy/fly what makes you happy. I am sure you will be happy with the 600N (I will probably add one eventually). I will be happy to let you examine the Knight 3D, if we can get together sometime.

You have seen mine fly, but my flying tends to put people to sleep, so you probably do not remember it (all I do is a lot of "Split S's and droning around upside down).

Richard: Ya, I've seen you fly upside down the whole flight before, you can fly just fine.

I like to mix it up a bit and challenge myself and this is what it's all about for me, "the challenge".

I can feel that I'm at the point where it's just about to all click into place. And then I can go after some of the more complex flying.

I've got the Scorpion V2 almost finished and will test it today, with the CC 35amp esc, no external bec, we'll see.........gawd I hope it doesn't turf on me!

The Raptor is going to get the upgrades that I have for it soon, at a minimum I'll put on the G force arms on to get the right geometry on the head. The new top end is still breaking in though and I'm down on power a little.

Need another jug O Nitro.

The Trex 450 Scorpion -8 maiden worked out great.

Haven't installed the CC esc yet, used the Otter with bec that I had installed on the Hacker set up, worked without issues, I'm not sure I"ll change it.
