I decided.. after preaching about all the crap thats wrong with walkera, and convincing countless folks to skip walkera all together... that i was going to post some proof.
This picture is of the receiver. Note the highlighted area.
Top highlight: Extremely bad solder joints. Note the components not even flush with the boards.
Left center: I'm not sure who's idea this was... but come on... if you are going to improvise parts.. atleast attempt to hide that fact.
Right Center: This capaciter is literally wedged between the 2 boards. I could not move it... thats gotta be safe...
Left bottom: 2 caps, soldered together, then soldered to the board. I guess the 2 cent upgrade for a larger cap was out of the question... so they half assed it.
Right bottom: These wires (after researching it) are for the battery and motor controls for another version of heli. Instead of building a new board, or removing the wires.. they just cut them flush with the case. And yes.. for those wondering, they do carry current when the unit is powered on!
I am seriously suprised that it actually works... this thing is covered in resin from soldering... traces created with solder... parts barely tacked down... just really shotty work here guys.
This is of the gyro. HAHA! No wonder these gyros suck... look... its off on all 3 axis. lol. Held in with hard foam... sure.. that works... lol
A straight down shot of the gyro.. now you really can see the sloppy-ness. Seriously... i paid money for this??
lol... this one... haha... oh lord...
The sensor is off axis... harder to tell in this photo... use the top edge of the gyro in the background as a reference for "flat".
This one... had bad solder joints, a loose wire, AND you can see the whole gyro is lopsided. IT IS SITTING FLAT... lol
Anyways... this is only a couple of the many many many issues i just took pictures of. Seriously guys... save the money... forget Walkera.
I have a whole shoe box full of this stuff.. i was thinking that i might use it for a side project... but on closer inspection... this **** is going in the bin.
All of the walkera gear from 2 helis had some sort of defect.
Although... the servos... they are quite nice :-) I will keep those. NOT FOR A HELI THO!! Their resolution is horrid... haha
