LIPO v LI ION for Reciever Battery in a Nitro
Yes, I have seen the posts regarding this subject.

However, I am interested in the real downside in using a LIPO battery for the reciever.

Anyone who flys a TREX 450, or TREX 600 (e;ectric) and crashed it has put the LIPO's at risk for major failure. (fire, burst)

How it that any different from using them as a receiver battery with a regulator on a Nitro Bird.

Choice
What battery pack is the preferred choice, most flights, least charging?

I'd say there's no advantage to either. A Mah is a Mah. With a 4000mah Duralite LiIon I got 8 to 10 flights easy on an all digital R50.

I replaced it with a 2 in 1 from Align that probably goes 4 flights or so but it weighs less, balances the helicopter better and uses a 1900mah Lipo and I dont have to worry about forgetting my glow driver. I figured that since I always drag atleast two helis and a plane or two, 4 or 5 flights was fine.
